Map Maker

Is there a better map maker than Bolo Reich, or maybe an uprgade? I realy want undestroyable walls.

did macbolo have indestructable walls :shock: ? It's been a while since i played (don't have current access to a mac). Btw, Boloreich is the only Windows map maker.

I agree and I also want a black hole feature; a square that if you go too close to it will suck you steadily inwards until you cannot leave and I also want star gates so that you can drive into a square and appear immediately in a different game and I also want tank garages and parking bays and I want 3 types of grass (tennis court/putting green type rich in fescue and rye grass; rough grass maybe with marram or couch grass and elephant grass that is kind of tall and mad and and ehh where was I?) and I also want surprise squares where if you drive over them, you get
special prizes (like holidays and nice food or CDs) and booby squares
where a man comes round the take your computer back if you drive
over and do not say the password quickly enough.

A current map maker can only include elements that exist in the game. Since undestroyable walls dont exist in winbolo (or bolo), no map maker could create them.

This would have to be a feature that is first included into the game (by elvis), and then included in the map maker.

So you would be better off wording your question as a "feature request" for winbolo intself.

this isnt true. i have seen maps with hacks on them, that have self-rebuiloding walls...its not lag at all either....

And how much did you have to drink B4 you observed these phenomenons, Q?

that could be caused by client to server lag. you will know if your lagged out of a game if the walls you shoot rebuild themselves, pills dont take damage from your shots, your lgm doesnt work, and if you die, your entire screen goes black. also, during this time frame, your messages do not register to any other people in the game.

the only know solution is to either wait until the server registers you again (can take up to 5 minutes) or quit and rejoin. however, if you quit, you will have to change your name to something else cuz your "ghost" will still be in there with your former name

It's either a laggy server or laggy clients, or both.

also, ytf is it when you hit ctrl-h, your screen goes black? (hitting it again fixes it)

it's "hide screen" under the control menu. dont ask why.

hrmmm, not very useful for bolo tho......

Ever been in a computer lab playing a game of WinBolo with ten other people that like to get out of their seat, walk over to your computer, and try to figure out where you are?

If you turn hide screen on you'll notice a drop in CPU usage for drawing if you have the system information window open. This is useful if you want to run multiple copies of WinBolo to use brains.

What error do you get?

I hit a link or I manually open WinBolo, I wait a minute (i can see the little hourglass), and the screen doesn't show up. If I hit ctrl-alt-delete, I see that WinBolo is running. I am using WinME, fully updated with WinUpdate. I reformatted both my drives 2 days ago.

Do you mean winbolo doesn't run at all when you double click on its icon in explorer? The opening window doesn't show up? Does single player work? Please list the exact steps you are following and what you are seeing.

K, i thoght i explained it good the first time:
-I click on the WinBolo icon
-My cursor changes to an hourglass cursor for approx. 10 seconds then changes back to the normal arrow
-WinBolo does not pop up
-I wait, and puzzel over why it does not pop up
-I post this :wink:

But, if i click Ctrl-Alt-Delete, It shows that WinBolo is running. I am using Windows ME. I recently reformatted. I have the current version of DirectX, my OS is fully updated.
