Bolo club or Bracket club

Ok when I was in chess club in high school every week we would play a best out of 3 against the person rated just above us or below. Example Week 1 evens would challenge odd rank opponents. Then the next week Odds would challenge evens. So week 1 rank2 would play rank1, and rank4 play rank3.. And the following week rank1 wouldnt play and rank 3 would play 2 etc.... Winner would move up one rank and loser down one rank.

I would be willing to sponsor this event. 16 weeks. or so... That way people would be playing people at their own level by week 4 or 5. Some kinda ranking system would be made to start it, either wbn rating or tourney to start.

I think this ladder approach is a good way to run it. It is also nice that people keep get to play and don't get knocked out, so it could go on indefinitly if it was automated somehow.
