Killing of sb games

Since I am getting some interesting feedback on this issue, I wanted to see what a poll came up with. So should people be able to kill games?

I have disabled game killing by the masses to see what impact it would have.

Poll will run for 30 days.

Hmmm....

I think that anyone should be allowed to kill games, unless someone who is killing games that should result in punishment/restriction from the bot.

ne1 should be able to. Anyone should be able to play on sheepbot. Thank-you sheeps for having sheepbot!

My choice is either have a group of trusted people be the killing mods, preferably chosen so that there is at least one on at a time OR to have a game-kill request. "Sheepbot kill 12345" would translate into "consider killing this game." Perhaps this request would be honored only if there are no players in that game at the moment, or some other sign that the game is supposed to be killed.

I think that a game should only be able to be killed by mods but after a certain time limit they can be killed by anyone...

I'M rather disappointed with this setup. no offense, but is there a goal or is it only supposed to frustrated people. I only kill games to clear the tracker of empty, used maps. I thought it was a nice gesture.

Me also. A good system would be that if a map is started and no one enters it after a certain amount of time (e.g. 15 minutes), it is automatically shut-down. I think that SJ should implement this into the next release of his bot :D
I guess that the only ppl that voted for the current setup (sb moderators), were the monitors themselves.

sj's bot automatically shuts down games already maddmaxx ....

and my opinion on this matter .... is obvious in my implementation of Minbot ... I made a "cleanup" function .... that goes through and kills all non-empty games that minbot has started ... this function is automatically called if minbot detects more than 3 games open already. Why not setup some dumby proof automatic stuff so that killing games is irrelevant?

In my opinion, these are the ONLY reasons that a game should be cancelled:

1. game spawned but not used at all for a long time

2. one of those stupid maps where the bases are on deep sea and therefor stay neutral the whole game, making the game never "end"

3. One of those stupid maps that nobody likes and when everyone joins and says "I hate this map, lets try another one", and NOBODY HAS STARTED YET.

4. Some newbie ruins a tournament game by starting before go

I think if only certain people who are authorized to kill maps do it, that would prevent games from unnecessarily being killed. Especially with situation #4. How often does a newbie start early but everyone else goes too and a full out game starts? Maybe it turns into a good game, and people would get pissed if it got killed.
