WinBolo 1.14 Available

1.14 has now been released and is available for download.

Version 1.14 (9/3/04)

• Built In Server support - WinBolo can now start a server from within the game
client. This mean it will no longer have to run an external program to run a server
which was problematic under some systems.
• Skin Support - WinBolo now allows players to customise their graphics and sound.
For more information about creating skins see Section 3.8 of the WinBolo manual.
• Cheat Detection. Better detection of players using cheats.
• New server commands – Say to send a message to all players in the game and info to
bring up information about the game and a current player list.
• Game lock status as well as version is now reported to WinBolo.net
• Slight increase in tree regrowth rate.
• Fixed lock up when pillboxes are dropped in the surrounding mine field.
• The builder is no longer able to drop a pillbox the carried pillbox on other pillboxes,
bases or walls when it is shot.
• Fixed unable to find brains and other directories when the directory has windows
attributes set on it.
• Fixed builder being shot when driving into a enemy base while shooting it and
sending it the builder.
• Other Fixes

Sheepbot now loads 1.14 games, wbb is also updated.

Oh and completeliy left out of the documentation:

* When a player quits normally a "player is quitting game." message is sent to all players followed by the normal "player has quit" message. If a player unexpectedly drops just the player has quit message is displayed. These messages also appear on winbolo.net if the game is being tracked there.

Pawnybot is updated and will update version wbb when sheeps get done. WEEEEEEEE,

well ... I fired up 1.14 .... and played for a bout 30 minutes in a open game ... and this little goodie came up



Mr. Pillbug is still not repaired ..... its been what ... since 1.09? ... that pill would not allow anyone to pick it up .....

The 'pill that cannot be picked up' is something that happens so often to me, I thought until now that my system was to blame. Apparently winbolo is to blame if Min gets the same thing.

also .... "info" doesn't output to the logfile ... it would be far more helpful if it did.

Just thought I'd add an extra link for those of you still trying to download the new version of WinBolo. I couldn't get it from .com despite trying for a few hours so I checked some of the other WinBolo sites I know of and managed to get a working copy fro the following.
