Skins and Sounds Support Information

Mar 22, 2003 09:33 Skins and Sounds Support Information
I am currently adding skin and sound support for WinBolo. WinBolo will be able to read in zip files containing skin and sound files to use. Players will be able to customise sound files, the background game image as well as the ingame graphics.

The question is would people like to see an information file present in this as well? If so what information would it contain? A name, author, contain url and email? For an example of what I mean see the language selection window in WinBolo.

Please post your thoughts and comments below.

I personally think that would be a good idea.

I would also agree that this sounds like a good idea, information to collect being:

- name, author, url, email, version, authors comments, number of downloads, category (once there are enough of them to warrant)

Example can be found at http://www.winamp.com/skins/

Is there going to be a way to 'select' which pack to use, instead of copying over existing files in a directory like the current sounds work?

This was for an selection window not for a website to list them all. For an example see the current language selection window. As such I think name, author, url, email, version, authors comments are all good suggestions.

I hadn't put much thought on how they would all be stored online. If people get interested I would be more then happy to create/host something like the winamp example above.

Yes, there will be a selection window.
