MaddMaxx is right on this one Acro, stfukthnx
You've taken what I said completely out of context.
Where do I come across as being jelous in my posts on this subject? At no point have I said I personally feel wronged by the uneven balance of power the US has so please enlighten me? You say you were not a brutal nation but correct me if I'm wrong but did the original settlers of America not drive the native American from there homes so that they could claim it for themselves? Killing and butchering innocents is hardly what I'd call civilised. I'm not even American and I know that so maybe you should think before you post statements like that. I'm not looking to start a flamewar with anybody (including you Acro) but you cannot cannot call me 'moronic' for stating a personal opinion. For you to say my opinion is wrong is facist in itself and that is the kind of regime that Hitler/Stalin/Genghis Khan etc. tried to enforce.
I'm not saying the attrocities of 9/11 were justified or right in anyway and if you'd stop being so damn arrogant you'd see that they effected more than your country. By all means punish those responsible but to invade Iraq was more than just retaliation (Remember although affiliated with Bin Laden, Saddam was not directly responsible for the act of terrorism). The bigger picture is America did not enter Iraq with the single goal of removing the tyranny of Saddam Husain. Iraq is a hugely rich oil commodity and holds a key position in that part of the world. The US will not come out of this war having made any financial loss, they will make sure revenues from the oil go, in part to them. The human loss of life can't be valued but unfortunately we live in a very fickle world where life to certain people is cheap. Funerals for the soldiers will be held but the people these troops died for will soon forget what has been payed for them to have there money.
One more thing, saying I should be jealous of America is exactly why most of you have been labeled arrogant and ignorant, I'm proud of my heritage and certainly don't feel the need for another identity. I'm comfortable with who I am, are you?
For any other Americans reading this, to save me having to explain myself over and over I'll say this. I have no problem with America or what they choose to do with there money/resources. I realise you have done a lot for the world ie. global policing but you do that by choice and freely and should not expect peoples undying gratitude for the rest of time. We all look after each other in one way or another so lets just leave it at that.
Ess-K
ps. fuck sake these posts are getting long
lol, tony blair is a disgrace to teh UK. :P, so is anyone who follows bush like that.
A sad but true reality MM, we need a strong leader who is willing to stand up to others and do whats right for this country. This may never happen though as I don't believe there is such a thing as an uncorrupt politician.
Down with Tony Blair, Elvis for Prime Minister
Ess-K
