Yeah, I actually saw Sev in a Winbolo game last week. One of my students got in a game with him (it was all I could do the keep the kid away from the pill war in the center of the map). :lol:
Is Mac bolo still alive?
I think the community kinda died, all the sites say things like last updated 2000 or something. and it looks like the newsgroup is gone, i couldn't find it on two main servers.
Yeah it's pretty much dead, I was playing bolo on the imacs at our school, and I go on the mac tracker and theres like maybe one game a day, it's long gone...

Wow, really? I thought bolo was totally booming still...... now its up to us to KEEP WINBOLO ALIVE! In the next version we should make winbolo EXACTLY like winbolo (where the heck is that website oscar made that showed alllll the differences) and fix everything thats said there.... having superboom and pill massaging will make the game even more nostalgic and fun! Btw "Jim" you should stick around and play some games man!

Maxx: "superboom" was the mega-explosion created when a tank was destroyed carrying a full load of ammo in the original Mac version of the game. It left a significant divot in the terrain.
Q: Pill massaging was a bug(?) in .97 where you could direct a pill’s direction of fire by rubbing against it really slow. True masters of the game could take adjacent doubles quicker than herpes (with no ammo I might add). There was vibrant discussion back in the day whether this was a bug or a “feature”.
Thanks for the invite to play. I'm afraid that you'd be dissapointed: I was never any good. But take heart: I'm introducing a new generation of young players to (win)bolo. The problem being (as I'm sure you're aware) a) the graphics are 2-D and b) the learning curve is pretty steep.

"Jim": Awww....not gonna play....snif......and i still think pill massaging should be added because it can turn around a game where all your bases are spiked ect.....and i definitely think all the little tiny things(like the stuff on oscars complete list) should be in winbolo.
