xSkin!

Announcing xSkin, a brand new skin released in two version: xSkin v1.0 Original and xSkin v1.0 Fermat!

My one goal in making this skin was to put those features together to try to create a modern and updated look for bolo, and yet still have a similar look and feel to the "classic" version that we all grew up to love and cherish.

xSkin v1.0 Original has the more modern-looking screen.

xSkin v1.0 Fermat has the Winbolo Default screen (with a few modifications).

** Note: This skin was designed for and looks best in Double Size, although Single Size can be used too. I recommend you test it on Double Size to see it for yourself.

It is now available at ftp://ftp.winbolo.us/upload/. I imagine soon it will be available on the website itself. I don't have any screenshot, if anyone would be so kind to take some and post it.

this is why i hate it so much! It's gonna be sooo popular that ppl might prefer it above the olde fashioned skin, this could make bolo less <<classic>>.

If that's the case Ren, I'm assuming that AJR's RipItUp skin is your second favorite.

Am I the only one here that thinks all he did was take other skin authors' work and throw it all together into one skin? A lot of it looks like it came straight from AJR's skin along with some elements from underdog's creation.

You're absolutely right. All I did was take what I considered the best images from AJR and Underdog's terrific skin to fit the kind of theme I had in mind, and put in single size images into the double size bmp file. I'm pretty open about it - I tell anyone who talks to me about xSkin about where the original images came from - I even wrote a very extensive detailed readme that I included with the skin zip file to highlight where everything came from.

AJR and Underdog deserve a lot of credit for their contribution to Winbolo skins - they are the two guys I personally feel have done the most so far to advance the state of Winbolo graphics.

ps. It still took me about 20-30 hours to put the skin together in the span of 4 days off as I did a lot of extensive pixel by pixel editing to integrate all those components together as I only have Microsoft Paint :(.

WOOT! mspaint! I use that and presto image folio to make my skins, but I could not make my latest skin without presto, anyways pretty nice skin, wtg!

Addition to xSkin v2 Original:
- Added the red function light (it used to be green). It is from Sheeps' AquaLight skin.

Addition to xSkin v2 Aqua:
- Added the screen from Sheeps AquaLight.

Addition to both version of xSkin v2:
- Added a blue mark on the Amo Counter to denotes minimum amo needs to kill a base at maximum shield.
