PASSWORDS???

okay i downloaded illinios version at www.mERC.com now what? i dont know where to type in ~POTD~. this is driving me nuts! cant someone give me the next set of instructions??? :evil:

I was going to tell you what to do, but you keep bein a bitch. You have to be in the #winbolo channel to get passes by typing potd......and no im not telling you how to get to tha channel...

Okay... you've got to have mIRC downloaded... www.mIRC.com I think. Then you follow MM's tutorial for mIRC. There should be a link to that tutorial on www.winbolo.us but I'm not sure. I never looked at it. Follow the directions. Once you've joined #winbolo, type in "POTD", which stands for Password of the Day. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE CHANNEL RULES. Please. I might cry if you don't.

Actually, you don't even have to download it. Just go to www.winbolo.us and click on the link that says something like "CGI: IRC". If you can't find it, just hit Cntrl+F and type in CGI.

Go to http://www.winbolo.us, click on the "CGI/JAVA IRC" Link.

OR, if that does not work, you can download the software by going to www.mirc.com
Once downloaded and installed, you put in the server "irc.winbolo.us" or "irc2.winbolo.us" or "hub.winbolo.us" (in case the first one does not work).

Then once you're in, you type "/join #winbolo" without the quote.

Now you're in the main channel. We have set up passworded games precisely so that we can play games that are bounded by a few set rules. If you break the rules of password games, expect to be banned from that gamebot and/or the IRC Channel. If you are banned from that gamebot, you won't even be able to join that gamebot for non-passworded games. If you are banned from the IRC Channel, you will not be able to join to get the password and/or chat with other players on there.

However if you are a total newbie, also check the etiquette guidelines: http://winbolo.netfirms.com/netiquette.shtml and the pages http://winbolo.netfirms.com/terms.shtml to understand some of the terms used during the games (some of which are important like "hold"!).

Now once in the channel, type "potd".

There are also a few simple rules for how to conduct yourself in the chat channel, but those are commonsense ones such as no flooding, etc.
