Newbs are important too
OK. I haven't been around the block long and I know I'm not respected (nor do I deserve respect), but I have noticed how many of you "veterans" believe that the newbs are causing the downfall of your precious game. First of all, if we did away with the newbs, there would be one player remaining since many of you believe that a newb (noob, whatever) is anyone not as good as yourself, meaning that everyone except the very best player is a newb. But that's not my main point.
My main point is that skilled players need weaker players in order to be percieved as skilled players. In history, anyone great in their field (be it a warrior, athlete, political figure, etc.) built their legend not only based on their victories over great adversaries, but also by their domination of weaker opponents.
It's impressive to see a great bolo player beat another, but it's also impressive when any number of you beat me in a strict in less than a minute (not an uncommon event unfortunately). Take away the newbs, and for many of you, you'd be taking away many of those who respect your ability.
So learn to accept newbs even though they may get your lgm killed occasionally and they make many mistakes. Although some of you had more talent and progressed quicker than others, we all started out (and some of us may always be) a newb.
