Watch out for this guy on smallball -- looks like he's kicked ass
all they way up to 10th spot on rankings playing exclusively on
this map.

At first it was players like drug_lord, burt, and apex, but the last
week or so he's taken down name players like acro, pawn, and zach.

I realize it's a lot easier for a game to go either way on a tiny two
pill two base map but the guy is 52-18 on this map, so he's obviously figured out something about it. Maybe he's just extra quick getting
his pill down first... Anyone who played him have any insights?

Yeah, the smallball map has become quite a phenomenom. I don't believe I've won yet on this map, though I've come close a couple of times of actually picking up a pb.

I might consider to separate out the smallball wins/loses on my log site to avoid having the stats become lopsided because of maps of this kind since it does represent a completely different style of bolo game.

Ya Zeus is very good at that map i played him and got beat 2 out of 3 he's very good. but i know how he does it. He waits till you have almost killed ur pill and ur getting ur ammo then he attacks it because he knows u cant or your die and he gets the pill he is very good at the game and beating players far better ranked than him he surly is good 8)

ya sev dont start killing your pill till u make sure he isnt in the trees beside the pill becasue after you have killed it he just goes and takes it away from you in about 2 sec

well, that would explain it .. most players these days are pretty weak to vulturing ... since its used so infrequently ... Thats how I used to beat some of the people considered "good" ... namely ... ud ... ;)

Im not positive whos map it is, I thought it was Mad Scouts, but the map is not in his archive. So I uploaded to my map collection, till the author adds it to theirs.

interesting map ... leaves alot of room for repair the enemy neutral games. Very easy to tell what your enemy is doing as well, if he's hiding in the tree's by yours ... go kill his ;) since you can see exactly what the other player is doing in regards to their pill. or shoot a few shots into their pill, then repair it while tapping your pill a few times ... .... lots of ways to play it

was thinking about it ... another way to deal with this map would be to watch your enemy pill until he goes "all in" attacking it, then just zoom over the line, shoot 4-5 shots into him, or sideswipe him while he's doing a pill run, then rape out his base .. done .. but it would strongly depend on weither he attacks his pill or not, I could easily see thta map turning into a joust who kills the other first type map .. the pills are too far apart to stop easy movement. so if you can make your enemy die while you have half ammo ..... rape time .....

I really didn't think the map would take off like it did, I feel happy that people like it so much. I haven't played it in a while, but last time I did we had a 2x2 on the map in a best of 7 series. If you haven't tried 2x2 on smallball you should try it. Talk about people having to play positions, and conserve ammo, it's really interesting. And then a best of 7 series, whether it's 1x1 or teams, can be good because you might be able to outthink someone in a one-and-done, but can you do it four times?
