How about an ethics and ettiquette forum?

It could be a place to direct noobs to if they dont know some piece of ettiquette(as so many do) and also a place to talk about ethics:tree killing, mining, etc.

So what does everyone else think?

Uh.......tree killing and mining are acceptable parts of the game, they are called TACTICS. As for the forum: I think this is one of the most fuckingly stupid ideas I have seen here (and, I've seen and made alot of fucking stupid ideas).

Sticks already has a webpage up that has an entire essay that pretty much covers all aspects of the game. Is it still up? I forget the URL. Anyway, having entire discussions on ethics really isn't practical, since there is no golden standard to go by for ethics. Many believe that tree killing and mining are a good addition to the game and believe that it should be used, others believe they shouldn't. I don't really see any golden standard being set, nor do I see someone's opinion being swayed to either persuasion of thought.

There is a link to Sticks's website somewhere in the www.winbolo.com "Links" section, yet I'm too lazy to dig it up just now and paste the URL.

However, if THERE is something to discuss, I agree that the General Winbolo forum would be the place for this.

I dunno. Mining pisses people off, but it's a damn good way to screw them up. I'd consider mining, but I'd probably be accused of using n00b tactics instead of skill. I might regret doing it anyway, because inevitably I'm going to have to fight on my own craters if my team advances. I guess it's ok to do it in a deadlocked pillwar, though.

MM, learn to read the whole thing and realize that I was as neutral as possible when I wrote it. There is no definate "mining is wrong" statement from me in that paper. Nor is there a "mining is awesome" statement. If there are, they are both in there to show either side of the argument.

The second paragraph shows the strategical advantages of mining and the likely outcomes of what will happen if someone mines. This paragraph is pretty much neutral to pro-mining.

The third paragraph is the anti-mining stance. It lists what players usually say after they've been mined during an intense game.
