I would like to see a skin in whcih the tank is a jet, the ground is clouds, grass would be blue clouds, pavement would be light blue clouds, sea would be storm clodus (gray), fesh water would be dark blue, bases could be aircraft carriers, landing strips, or little resupply planes. The trees could be balloons, the walls could bea red line entering enemy territroy kinda thing, I wish the bullets could be rockets. I can't create my own skins for some reason, I zip it up and it doesn't work, it just freezes the program. Oh, the igm would be cool if he was paratrooper. Pills could be AA guns.
Vengeance,
Heh, Those are interesting ideas. I like clouds for grass. That's one thing I'm finding out while making skins, is that it's fun to break out of the box and assign traditional squares different stuff. For example, the swamp box. Why keep swamp, swamp? Swamp is ugly to me - no matter how one draws it (maybe it has something to with having lived right next to a swamp for years?). However, the beach, or sand is much prettier, so why not replace swamp with beach, they have the same properties when it comes to a tank driving through it.
And like Sheeps said, why are strips painted in the middle of the road? Isn't it unrealistic to expect an lgm who is running for his life and working fast under enemy fire to carefully paint straight lines in the middle of the road? And those aren't those strips supposed to keep cars (tanks) on each side of the road...but yet the tank fits the whole road so isn't it a waste of the lgm's time to even paint them? So, now I don't put strips on the skins I work on.
So on your jet Skin, what would boats be?
As for making your own skins, hmmm, you must be doing something wrong if you can't make the skin work. Have you tried using Suicide's graphic "how to make a skin" guide? If you do exactly what he says in that guide, it should work.
