Welcome to the place in which my Winbolo.net life will be contained. I have decided to contain a large majority of my posts in here since creating a new thread is larger than just a reply.

Well, here it is. Be aware that the name will change numerous times, see what's up in my head once and awhile!!!

yay! Hey Elvis, can you please keep us from ever viewing this thread again in the "Recent Forum Posts"?
Jul 13, 2004 07:31
Yeah, i actually support that. I want like very fifth post of mine to be shown up in this thread, so i don't drown it and all.

Ok, here it is.

My power supply turns out to 300W!!

I am running a Lite-On DVD-ROM
An 8x Sony DVD burner
a 120GB 7200 Seagate
a MSI Combol-L Mobo
A WinTV Video Capture PCI card
A USB 2.0 PCI Card
and a PCI Modem

My computer sometimes shuts-off and starts beeping. The 3.3V is around 2.90 usually and has dropped down to 2.60s. My otheres are very close to normal.

What's wrong? Will a new power supply UNDOUBTEDLY fix this?
I don't want to spend $80 on a PSU if it won't work.

Going for a 500W ANTEC from Newegg.com.

Is it 3 beeps? It sounds like a ram problem, though that is a weak psu. You don't need to get a $80 psu you get find some good ones for less just have to look around. 3 beeps maen its a ram problem meaning that one of your ram sticks or your just one stick is bad and you need to get a new stick.

Sure about that suicide? Where did u get that info?

I'll check it out.

b.t.w. how many watts should I go for?
Jul 14, 2004 00:09
I learned it from past experiences and on the interent, it usually is three beeps, but mine one time it just kept on beeping, till I shut it down. I would go for at least 350w or 400w, the least. I'll try to find a good cheap one for ya.

Edit: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=270034

Here is a good psu, if you want cheaper I'll find you a cheaper one.

Thanks for going to the trouble of doing that suicide, but you didn't have to. I can just newegg my stuff just like everyone else. I don't want other people doing my work, I'm already lazy enough. :D

Thanks anyway, i'll check it out. I think I'll go with a 420W if newegg's good on price and stuff.

Thanks again.

By the way, are u "sui Winbolo" on the xoxide forums?
Jul 14, 2004 06:14
Oh, forgot. Suicide, the quote "beep codes" as they're called are different for all BIOS. U know, Award, Phoenix, AMI. Mine happens to be a Award BIOS after the Phoenix-Award merge, they still use Award though. I checked that out, knowing nothing about the existence of these codes until your post, and I found that the beeps are not only a message that your computer or you just f***** up but that they all have different meaning, of course u knew that obviously. It turns out though it is a memory problem anyway, I am gouing to put my old 256MB & 128MB back in there and get my 512MB replaced by newegg.com,

b.t.w, congrats on the skins contest man. :D

Suicide, Thank YOU!!! :D :D :D

My computer is running fine right now, though the voltages are still around the same. I have been able to actually do stuff on my computer!! It got so bad before that after I started my computer it shut off in about 10 seconds. I put in my old memory, tah dah! I am posting on my computer right now. I made the last two on my old living room computer. Thanks Suicide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope that this keeps up and if it doesn't Ill post it, if it keeps working don't expect a post. Thank u!! I almost sent my computer in and got a new power supply that was suped up and all this other crap, then u come along and BAM!! end computer problems, at least the major ones!

Thank you Master! I offer you Madd Maxx's soul as an offering, sorry it's now very much but it was the only one i could get on short notice. The devil wasn't very attached to it.

Computer building is mad fun. My next idea is to build a decent computer as cheaply as possible. Processor Celeron 366 for $10, Socket 370 board for $20, etc....cheap RAM, PSU, Used Drives, etc. Should be fun. I'm hoping to stay under $150 (no peripherals).
Jul 14, 2004 23:25
did you stop to make sure your 512 was seated properly? it could be something gay like that. some comps also have toubles with different sized/manufactures ram modules also so watch your old setup :) and Acro, that would be kinda fun a 366 would make a nice linux router.....thats what I am using mine for :)
Jul 15, 2004 00:39
Yeah, i checked the memory seating and stuff. I already have a RMA # from Kingston and will have a new one soon. THanks Min for the memtest, and wtf are u getting these components!!!!!
Jul 15, 2004 01:27
Hmmm....Linux. Interesting idea. And cheap stuff is available on ebay to bid on, but factor in shipping.
Jul 15, 2004 03:22
I'll sell you my intel socket 370 for $20, it has onboard sound, video and two usb ports. Made by intel and micro-atx form.
Jul 15, 2004 06:05
Come with a CPU?

I am collecting outdated computer parts that are crap so i can build a killer robot that shoots floppy disks at anything that moves. Cheap ammnition, I guess CD-Rs are the same price... Screw Isaac Azamov!!!
Jul 15, 2004 07:08
Sorry no, lol yay a killer computer! :D Hehe, I'm collecting old computers too, just not making a killer on,lol! I got a Apple IIc, Apple SE, Commadore 64, and now a powerbook 520c I just got today!
Jul 15, 2004 09:48
I think that we should have driver's license tests. Turn right, turn left, accelerate, modified paralell park, etc. Then we shoulkd get a weapons safety license tied in with driving on safe operation of the tanks main weapon and how to increase/decrease gun range, etc.

A team of people will be assigned to give these tests.

Why? because it's useless and has no point. Duh.

When is someone going to make my jet skin? Just give me credit and i'm fine with it.

I will get my computer running with my new PSU soon. I am running it now for the first time in two weeks, posting on it now. Good ol' Newegg.com and good Antec 430W True Power. Hey, I found 450W power supply for $12!

My antec cost me $76 total Including shipping.

Night Y'all.

Want more pics of Rose!
Aug 06, 2004 01:07
i got my new Antec 430W True Power today!

the fan blades are clear so i can see right through them into the PSU. It also runs very quioet with its dual fans, one that blows on my CPU, by the way. Of course there's an option that for the PSU to control up to four fans by itself, adjusting the RPMs according to temp.

Of course Im not sure If it will fix my problem yet, but I hope it will!

Im so very very happy! :D :D
