Great, More Computer Problems

Ok, here it is, more computer problems...

I turn my computer on, and it goes to the screen that shows active IDE devices, checks the memory, display bios info minorly, etc. Then it just freezes up. It freezes before it does the memory check but after the boot beep. I think the CPU is fried, I know that it isn't the memory, so don't even go there...

WTF is up?

Please help :(

Check to see if anything inside the computer is putting out extreme heat.
After that, go here:

Why would I go to bestbuy.com? I plan to buy a new CPU, not music... :)

There's no extreme source of heat...

So it freezes before the onboard memory check? Thats odd, did you try resetting the cmos? Try that and see what happens...

Computers can be quite confusing. I used my old system for two years before I realized I had wired the case front panel section wrong. My power LED,
HD LED, Reset Sw, Power etc. plugins were all wrong. Funny thing is, the computer still operated. It would restart automatically when you hit shutdown, but if you took the cover off, it would shutdown normally. All that
time I thought it was a cooling problem, but when I moved the components into a new case and wired the panel section properly, then it shut down quickly every time even though I had less cooling than I did in the old case.
