Here's a new question for all you computer techs. I have a buzzing/static problem with my computer speakers that did not exist on my old system. Is it that my system is grounding improperly in some way? Grounding the 'earth ground' lead of the power cord to the steel frame of the case did not affect the problem. Should I try isolating the board from the case using rubber grommets, or something else? Any ideas?
What kind of sound card is on your computer? Is it onboard? I doubt that grounding is a problem, its probly just your sound card, or it could be damaged speakers, do you have any other speakers to hook up? But I'm unsure since I don't know much about troubleshooting with speakers.
hey Acro its TERMINATOR i agree with suicide it may just be damaged speakers or mabye a fragment inside your sound box in your speaker
Nah the speakers are ok. The sound card is inbuilt. I'm not too impressed with this mainboard anyway. The onboard LAN doesn't work either. This sounds like electrical interference because it has a consistent modulation that you can hear even when I'm not playing music: kind of a static-like hum with occasional little pops and buzzes (not loud).
What kind of mb do you have?
make sure the plug goes all the way into the speaker jack. on my system, the plug fits real loose and if u bump it at all, it comes out a little. u get a very annoying buzzing. well, if that doesn't help, just try putting headphones into it.
