Apr 18, 2003 21:49 Command Prompt Tip
for any of you that go to the command prompt quite often. but have having to CD to the directory you need to go to when you have it open in explorer you can fix this easily by adding cmd to your file options for file folders. If your running windows XP simply open a folder. click "tools" go to "folder Options" scroll through the "registered file types" window until you find click "folder" and hit the "advanced button" from there hit "new" in the new area it will have an "action" area in action, type the name of the action. which I simply called Cmd and then in the "application used to perform this action" type for windows xp cmd.exe /k "%i" then hit OK .... now when you right click on a folder it will have the option "cmd" right under "Open" and when you click on it it will automatically open a command prompt in that folder. very useful
