Winbolo Player Profiles

ATTENTION, ATTENTION! One for the history books! Cool Fool is actually contributing something to the community!

And unlike my previous contributions, this one doesn't involve defaming Fireice.

I've started up a winbolo player profiles page. Some of the vets might remember when Flag did the same thing for Bolo some years ago. The idea is that you can post little essays on other players' styles - their strengths, weaknesses, and idiosyncracies - which we can all read and learn from. It's open to anyone, handled through e-mail.

I suggest you first check out the page to get some idea of what I'm after here. Fireice and I have already put up a couple. Try to steer away from name-calling and self-aggrandizement; we save that for the forum!

A project like this is only as strong as the level of community involvement, so please contribute. I mean, who knows when the next time I'll ever do anything useful will be?

How about turning on your email forwarding in winbolo.net and using Cool_Fool@winbolo.net? You are still able to keep your email address private this way.

And you know... You are capable of turning on wbn when you play games! How about we start seeing some Cool_Fool in the logs!? :)

Well I want to use the .us forwarding just because .us is hosting it for me. Be nice to have one point of contact for any problems that arise. I am a bit disappointed to have the e-mail down on the site's first day, though. I was hoping to start this out with more of a bang. Plus, with this kind of project it's important not to miss the initial rush of excitement.

It's a conpiracy. The don't have my name either.

It's not a conspiracy, despite what Underdog may have been telling you. Alain, Q-man, and MM have now been added to the page. I've been getting a lot of people asking to have their names included, but very few have bothered to sit down and write profiles. So far, just me FI and UD.

I'm not qualified to write any more, cause I never play and I sux at everything. I don't even know half the people on here. Of course, I don't let that stop me from insulting them in a childish manner.

Instead of crediting whoever's written the profile at the beginning, why not put it at the end? I read Min's profile and I thought it was about FireIce because it said his name at the beginning like so:

"FireIce: blah blah blah"

I know that it states who the player is at the top, but to avoid any confusion, do something like:

"blah blah blah

-written by FireIce, March 2, 2005."

My memory is exceptionally bad, so I might be the only one who has a problem with this. *shrug*

Still standing by on more profiles. Nova just sent me a profile about himself. This isn't really what I was looking for, but I included it anyway because a) I like him and b) he's a bit inactive so I don't know that anyone has any good info on him right now.

He never plays winbolo. Except those rare few times he plays. He loves making map, spelling everything perfectly and insanely perfect, with perfect punctuations. I make fun of him sometimes by. putting. a. period. after. each. word. but. I. can't. keep. it. up. long. cuz. it. takes. so. long. to. type. like. this. PHEW. Anyway, I've played maybe one or two games with him in the three years I've been in winbolo. He is really cool to have hang around on #winbolo, even if some of what he says is a result of his need to have sex ...with anything. Oh yeah, and due to his height and stuff, he is the official Winbolo Bouncer. I hope he sticks around for a long time.
