i guess theres no way to stop hacking into this game. i dont understand y someone would use one. if its that important to win then they can play by themselves thats the way i see it. so...if your playing and u see someone hacking, just quit. if someone hacks dont play with them. from here on out when im in a game and i see someone hacking im just gunna quit. fuck them.

He trolls under many different names, just look for the 67-116 and you'll know it's him... I was just in a game with him, I talked with him a bit... he said that he was a "Pro hacker"... and that this game is to "slow" and "boring" for him, this makes me wonder why he's still around, ANYWAYS... He has the ability to spawn and get behind you, in less than 2 seconds after dieing... I saw him take out 2 bases(that were full) use all his ammo/mines and kill me in the process... all in less than 5 seconds, I advise that all BOT owners BAN this guy immediately before the hack spreads....
I am done with all opens all together until I get word from SOMEONE that he has been banned...
In my oponion this should also give elvis more reason to finish up 1.15 ;)

Actually, it looks like people are using some kind of PC accelerator called Speed XP. This is not a winbolo hack but apparently the effect is still the same.

K, I found a new hacker today. He was using the name "Zorr0", with a zero instead of a proper o. Anyways, I started to write down his address, but someone killed the game. It began with Zorr0@ppp-67-166-203-
I don't know what came after that coz the game got killed. Ban teh fuckka!
wow this is old. how long did it take u to browse through this? this was a long time ago, on the older winbolo virsion 13. 14 is up now. not much to worry about speed hacks. at lest for now.

I'm not going to post where they are getting it, but people are telling each other in the games...
i "hacked" bolo for the first time, i wanted to tell you my perspective.
i used the "speed hack", whic unlike other game hacks, does not give the player a true advantage, such as unlimited health or ammo, or something like that. it makes everything frantic on the screen, which is hilarious. basically my disjointed point is that i used it for entertainment purposes only, in an OPEN game. just to try it out and cruise around. it made the game impossible to play normally. this hack gives no advantage, if anything it simply makes the game more chaotic. it creates anarchy.
i know some of you are pissed off, but hey i just wanted to see what it was all about and im not going to be using it every day, i probably will never use it again. it was just for a laugh. I would say its much much more annoying to have people mass allying every game and screwing up the teams. now THAT is annoying.
or how about pill stealing (allying then stealing), in that case , the player is exploiting the game, and not playing in the "spirit of bolo", in order to enjoy themselves. its annoying but do you ban someone for it? i dont know maybe you do, im not really "in" on the "bolo community" but i do "like" to put things in "quotes".

the problem with speed hacks, is you can use it in a tournament game to gain a slight advantage, for example, you turn it up when your refueling, then turn it off again, or turn it on when your driving in deep sea, and zoom, you get back to the action faster. In games were player skill is very close, this can be the difference between losing and winning. JM needs to implement a more permanent solution than identifying one program that allows speed hacking, and preventing winbolo from running if that program is running (which is what I believe he did with the last program that could speed hack) Its time for a new version of winbolo. Unless of course winbolo has turned into abandonware, like so many other good, fun, games.

Discouragingly we must rely mainly on updated releases of winbolo to curb this kind of abuse. Few server operators want to spend much time managing an ever-changing dos-list which would likely spawn endless complaint and accomplish little considering bolo/winbolo has such a small following as it is.
