Summing up: Dan, policy or no policy, you've been an asshole. You've made a nuisance of yourself, you've disregarded common courtesty, and generally put my /ignore command to hard work. (And even then you used Alexmbot to try to get around that.) Naturally, this doesn't go against policy but it does kinda leave you friendless.

In short: no one's on your side here.

Now onto what I call "karma". Karma is a Buddhist belief that what you do, good or bad, stays with you. I also apply this to day-to-day life. Example: It's not illegal, per se, to piss off policemen, but if you get tangled up in crime and you have to ask one of the policemen for a favor... your Karma is low and you're in deep doo-doo.

You've got a good side to you, Dan, you really do. Just knock off some off the asshole and you wouldn't be in this mess.

A little newsflash for you dtm, and anyone else who doesn't realize this, you -have- no 'rights' in a online community. Agreed, it is rather funny. I love how he makes a super-bitching post one week, and then in another week... he goes all polite... and the cycle continues.

A question from somebody new to the forum and Winbolo:

Are there many of these juvenile characters in the Winbolo world, or is this sort of thing confined to only a few who have a seemingly inexhaustible thirst for negative attention?

I seem to be running into a lot of disruptive players in the few games I get time to play. Lots of good ppl, too, but the rotten apples are kind of discouraging.

Bolo/Winbolo is a fantastic game. Pity some folks bring it down with rude behaviour.

The ops seemed like reasonable and fair people to me even back in 2003 when I was a hapless noob. I look at the history of the banlist and omigosh, it's only the retards or malicious people that have been banned for extended periods of time.

I can't stress enough how accurate min's thoughts about IRC are. It's a privilege, not a right. Join, act sensibly, follow the rules. Those in charge are decent, fair people and will forgive rule-breaking for awhile. But eventually, you'll strike out. Speed with your car too much and you lose your license. Starting to sound like the real world, now?

Actually, I hear computers is but one of his hobbies and he spends an obscene amount of money making sure the server continues to operate. I don't 'worship' lrl or really know much at all about him, but I think we're lucky to have him.
