Take 'em out!

Sep 29, 2005 23:44 Take 'em out!
After falling down three flights of stairs (twice) I decided that we need us a thread that'll list the maps we don't want on the spawners: the huge masses of land, the ones with no starts or no pills, or the ones that look like penises.

This is a good idea. I'd like to run a spawner-only and opens-only server with a snappy collection of 500 or so of the best maps we have.

I look at Acro, and "snappy" isn't the word that comes to mind.

That..was pretty weak. Even for you CF. Nice try though :)

Ok, Nova, we can start to take out this map i saw today on Acrobot :
(Nova) Copy[1]4
http://winbolo.net/mapcollectioninfo.php?id=4370

Because the 2 bases are in the mine field and unaccessible ! :)

take out starice and chew toy 3

Um, I definitely don't think it's a good idea to work this way on this... there are a TON of maps on the servesr that just don't work, for whatever reason. I think we should be starting with a clean slate and putting maps ON.

It's just more logical then wading through all the (frankly) crap that's on some of the maplists.

After your post and a little more thought... yeah, that sounds like the right way to go about it. Bots could get the "obvious" maps: Baringi, Chew Toy 3, and all those classics, and if they or someone else wanted to add another map then they could send it to one of the bot-owners or upload it to the .us FTP or something.

I definitely agree. There are too many maps which are plainly meant for art and stuff, and that would take a million years to go through. I think we should just do what Q says, start from 0.

I never liked StarIce because of the base placements. It's too far from group to group and the bases on the points are also too far away to use and in too weak of a position to fall back to. I'm going to make a revision and add it to my collection.

I just said that cuz fi made it

It's actually spelled "BALEETED" yet thankyou for making a valid effort.
