linbolo 1.14

Oct 04, 2005 07:24 linbolo 1.14
winbolo 1.14 has been available since march 2004. there is still no client for linux. i would really like to see linbolo 1.14.

using WINE to run winbolo 1.14 is an experience in itself. game play is choppy, menus sometimes work, sound doesn't work, graphic drawing is very glitchy.

everyone thinks i am a total newb.

i modified the linbolo binary to make it think it is 1.14. the tracker lets me try to join a game, but it doesn't work.

thank you!

I think I remember Elvis saying that it was getting too time consuming to keep win/linbolo compatible and he was developing a more long term solution.

I would love to help with the linbolo 1.14, but my one attempt to install linux (lindows version) failed. I grabbed fedora's core 2 final, but haven't attempted since.... so winbolo 1.14 it is.

you could always dual-boot.

If the linbolo 1.13 binary was updated to use recent libraries, at least I could run it with my other linux using friends. That should just be a recompile, and not too much work.
