a new thing to add

Jun 08, 2003 17:56 a new thing to add
Hi, I just finished playing 1x1 with a player, and he quit befor I could win, , That kinda sucked because I think I could have beat him too.
So I was thinking, what do you think if you added this thing on to win bolo when you play 1x1, so when you quit in the middle of a qame, a screen would pop up and ask you if you would like to forfie or ask opponent for a draw, it oppenent agreed and drawed it would not hurt your score, but it he did not whant to darw then you would have to fofit the game, and your opponent would atamaticly win.
p.s sory about the spelling, I am not that good at it.

Well, if you are talking about winbolo.net games (which involves points), what you are talking about is actually somewhat implemented - what you have to do is after the person leaves, is make sure you go and capture every single base (which should be neutral by now). Once the last base has been captured, and all conditions of the 1v1 has been met (ie, only you two played, etc), then you should get the win awarded to you on winbolo.net ranks. So, by quiting, he consents to letting you take all over the bases and let you win....if you go ahead and capture those bases

Hmmm...I have done it a lot and it works (very very few players stay until I kill and take their last base). Maybe there were other conditions of a 1v1 been submitted that were not met? Such as a 3rd player taking one base (then quiting) before you two joined the game, the other person not registered with winbolo.net, the server not registered with winbolo.net, the game been shutdown by the server before its completion, etc.....Sometimes you need to wait a few seconds in order for the update to show up on the page...

All the conditions can be located on the help page. In particular section 4.2 which deals with the rules for ranking 1x1 games. They are:

4.2 Why didn't my 1x1 get ranked?
As Winbolo.net is an automated ranking system and does not rely on any human game reporting certain conditions must be met for the game to be considered a valid 1x1 game. The criteria for a game to be ranked is:

* One player must have captured and own all bases.
* No non-participants can have captured any bases or pillboxes.
* Only 2 players have played and captured any bases or pillboxes.
* Both players must of captured at least one base or pillbox.
