WinBolo v1.15 crashing on XP

Aug 30, 2006 00:53 WinBolo v1.15 crashing on XP
WinBolo 1.15 crashes whenever I try to start any kind of network game- LAN, TCP/IP or tracker.

Example:

1) I select Internet (Tracker search) from the main menu and click OK.
2) I click New in the Tracker Game Finder dialog.
3) I pick Tournament, allow hidden mines and computer tanks, then click OK.
4) I get an error: "WinBolo.exe has encountereds a problem and needs to close etc etc." and WinBolo crashes.

Same thing with TCP/IP or Local Network. I've tried on three different PCs, all running Windows XP (two with SP1a, one with SP2), all different hardware. Anyone seen this before?

Thank you.

That seems kinda bad for a product at a version past 1.0

When its a product thats provided by someone who made it as a hobby. Its not bad at all. If you don't like it, don't play. Period.

Odd, though. It hasn't ever crashed with the inbuilt on my system.

Odd, have you tried it recently? .... Elvis modified the code and I guess it moved the internal structure that holds the inbuilt map, this cuases it to attempt to access the wrong spot. And therefore it dies horribly.

Welcome to the community!

I'm not sure you can fix the WinBolo game itself, but you can download the Everard Island map (the inbuilt one) here and load it like you would any networked game: http://winbolo.net/mapcollectioninfo.php?id=203

Hopefully this helps!
