Suggestions: 1x1x1

I've been playing a lot of 1x1x1 LAN games and am looking for a little variety in maps. We have settled on (Dallen) Triangles as the standard which makes for a nice relatively quick game.

It makes for an even game as all three sides are (almost) symmetrical. The size of the map is small which makes the action quick. The amount/lack of trees can also play a role towards the end of the game.

We have played (sheeps) recycle a few times and it is another interesting 1x1x1 map. It is slightly smaller which makes taking a boat to try and spike the other islands very difficult and ends up about who controls the choke points between the islands. Trees conservation is also critical as long standing games can become a waiting game for tree growth. (Maybe the recycle name had a double meaning on tree recycling?)

If you haven't tried either of these maps I would recommend getting three relatively even players and giving them a try. At the very least they will give you practice of fighting on two fronts simultaneously.

Anyone make any suggestions on a similar maps or others they would recommend for 1x1x1 games?

Forgot to mention we also have played (DAllen) radioactive a few times. For us, the size is too large for a 1x1x1 and may be more suitable for a 2x2x2. Its a long drive between each of the three areas on the map and can end up circling as areas are captured as players move around to take other areas and can not return quickly to defend.

The size is especially apparent if you play as badly as I do and lose your builder. It can be a long time before he parachutes back in.

Wow...I'm like honored...No really, stop laughing - I really do feel honored.

If you like (DAllen) Radioactive I can try to make a smaller version of it. I remember how I made it so making a smaller version shouldn't be that hard. So what are you thinking, 1/2 the original size or what?

Actually, I was thinking of getting into making maps again but didn't know where to start. If there is demand for some 1x1x1 stuff I'll make it. I didn't pursue it before because it didn't seem like I got a tremendous amount of response.

I concur. That used to be my favorite 1x1 map, too.

I know, its definately got a certain flare, its a map I used to beat a number of people I'd had at that point never defeated before. They just weren't very good at playing on grass maps.
