Well hi all, I was recommended this game by a old friend of mine.

I was wondering is there any guide or tutorial on how to play? Ive heard the game is somewhat complex (I havent actually downloaded it yet to see for myself) but I would like to be knowledgeable before hand as i assume many of the players might be well trained veterans :).

i recommend that you go to the page below. Its our chat site. There we host games and all that. Lots of vets use the chat, so your bound to learn strategy

Definitely do not forget to ask somebody about key setup. There's individual preferences, but the general consensus is: dominant hand controls keypad and mouse, other hand drives tank & shoots.

Download the game, even if you're on a slow connection it'll only take about 5 minutes.

So erm, what keysetups would you all suggest , I screwed around a bit but in the end it seems hard to be able to control all the movement/shooting/settings with one hand and keeping the other one on the mouse.

Edit: oh look a thread about this!

Also what is the benefit of extending/decreasing gun range?

Extending/Decreasing gun range can help you kill an lgm that is close to you.

i used to wounder why to you could decrease your gun range. It helps when someone tries to spike you

Spike; verb, to place a pill around an enemies refueling base in a strict so that he cant refuel, thus, you can finish him off

also, make sure you use pill view. Very, very helpful.

I use WASD for controlling the tank, although some people prefer ESDF because it places your left hand closest to the home row if you need to type. I usually have my thumb on the space bar to shoot. Keypad 8456 to scroll, keypad 7 for "tank view" and keypad 9 for "pillview." Keypad 3 to mine and keypad + and Enter to change my gunsight. You might change this as you see fit, but that's the general idea. I drive around with my left and right hands---scrolling and moving, and once I'm ready for a pilltake I leave the scroller where it is and control the tank and LGM simultaneously.
