Cant connect laptops

Im an old school mac player and had no idea bolo was out for windows, but I cant get my laptop and my friends to detect each other when either one of us tries to host. Well either get an error/shutdown or server is busy, just random errors, or one of us will get the map up and running but we cant detect it over any of the channels Im running a Toshiba Tecra, and he has a Dell Latitude 110L both running win xp, over a wireless linksys connection. Any ideas -Oldschool

make sure that you enable port forwarding on your router to the computer and port that is hosting.
