hey xon, as the number one ranked strict tournament player (/me flexes, and makes several sexually charged poses), someone who has played bolo since 94, and an irc operator, I can tell you that none of the good players use any borgs or hacks, and when a player does cheat it is very obvious. I think you are using borgs as a scapegoat for the fact that you are just bad at the game. It's ok, no one started out amazing. except me (j/k) Playing opens is not a good way to learn how to play, by the way. At best you will become decent at opens. In general, you will never really learn how to play. I think its sad if someone has to rely on any borg in an open, lol. Opens arnt even real games!!!! Ive been saying this all along. OPENS ARE NOT REAL GAMES

the best way to learn is play a ton of stricts. play a few hours of stricts every night for a few weeks and you will suddenly not suck anymore. Some people become really good in a short period of time actually. but never from playing opens. no one ever got good from just playing opens.

First off, playing since 94 doesnt mean playing consistantly since 94, so the number of hours you quoted is more than double. Second off, I am not ashamed of playing this game for a long time. I like the game, so I play it. Just like someone who likes chess might have started at 12 years old and is now 45. Or some dude that likes TV and watches the same sort of shows for whatever number of hours a week, etc. To each his own. This is a hobby. I have nothing to be ashamed of or hide. You on the other hand, are sitting here crying about being banned for cheating, and the worst part is you are making up a bunch of little stories to get attention and feel like you are saving face. I recruited someone new. He tired playing a couple of games. Got beat up. Read a bit of the forums and went back to playing his "3D" game. I am trying to get him back again. I told him that it is addicting and challenging.

I heard someone the other day liken winbolo to chess, strategically --- watch your opponent’s every move; plan your next three moves in advance; think of the consequences.

So to those that walked away from this game in disgust, it is time to be recruited back: adjust the 'attitude', tune out the banter, ditch any hacks, chat in IRC, and join in some stricts. You know you want to.

And – recruit more female players!!
