Deletion of Spam Accounts

In the next few days I will be deleting WBN accounts that were created by spammers. This is the criteria I will use to determine which accounts to delete:

* Account has never made a post to the forum.
* Account never played a game.
* Account does not have an email forward set.
* Account has not uploaded any maps into a map collection (or on their profile page)

phpbb3 does a much better job at preventing spam signups. Ever think of upgrading?

Yes. Some time before August looking at their end of life plans for phpbb2.

Upgrading however will not cleanup the existing accounts.

Added a criteria that the account isn't a member of any teams.

Have done some queries and identified that 14,000 odd accounts will be deleted.

Will hold off for a day before cleaning them up in case I have overlooked something. So now would be a good time to tell me if I have. :)

No. I meant in addition to all the criteria first mentioned. You have made posts and played games so the account will not be included. It will only be deleted if the account hasn't done any of the above listed things.

And all accounts that looked like spammers have been deleted, except for the most recent signed up member Snakey who joined 24 hours ago. But I'll be watching to see if he does post or play a game :)
