By the way ErYan, if you were e=mc2 I have to say that you have greatly impressed me in your progression and level of skill now. I'd say you've moved past noob and into the indio/kaos territory. I'd hate to see you leave after so much improvement, so keep it up and stick it out and you will become a great player very soon.

I appreciate what you are trying to do. Thank you. Did you ever consider the pseudonym “Amgine”? You turned up seemingly from out of the blue with words of wisdom, intermittently playing games, taking my quad within a minute of ……………………..go. I would get upset.
No one really explained what to do about you. UD did say once when going for the first neutral to get the pill almost dead; fill armour and then run in full speed taking the pill out, dodging the few remaining bullets in order to get to the pill before vultures. That didn’t always work because you would be planting your first pill nearby or sniping my build or killing me anyway. Learning to be ready for you and your ambushes was an important lesson in Bolo. Expect the unexpected; play safe; speed; choose the right neutral.
I appreciate your role in the community. NemoBot plus administering IRC takes time. I always remember reading a post from a long way back when you called Ren a noob. It was funny and revealed how long you’ve been here.

I remember when I started you were really active in the team games. You spoke your mind; it was black and white but true to what you believed. No back harassing / spiking in handicapped games, no strip mining etc. You helped me many times sitting in games and explaining what I should do. I think you really helped me appreciate the importance of bases.
I saw you get frustrated. I guess that is why you took a break. I feel your pain. You are fun to have around.
I have never questioned Hellscream’s importance to Winbolo.

I keep a track of the games in my mind and from my records I would say that you are the player who is most often on the winning team. I am guessing that this is because your skills and contributions in team games are very under estimated.

I remember your first game….well I think it was. You have improved out of sight. You said some things that upset me, but that was because I thought that was out of character for you. A character that does not suit you.
Sorry if my comment about you lacking confidence upset you. I may be wrong. Remember that game when you had about 5 pills and I had none? That was the moment that your confidence should have kicked in and said “I can beat this guy!”
If tough love works for you, embrace and accept it. If not, ignore it, and ignore the comparisons with Diabolo. This isn’t a dick measuring contest between you two; it is a competition between Jon today and Jon tomorrow.
I have a 12 inches schlong anyway, so the contest is over.

You have anger, frustration, impatience. I can feel it. It makes me want to sit down with you, sink some piss and talk about nothing in particular. But, it is also why you quit early when you think you have lost and why you try to stack the teams in your favour.
But, my friend, you are getting good at Bolo. I watched a lot of your logs. However, I distinctly remember in a game you typed: “I don’t know what to do”. I have been there. I am still there. This tells me you need to improve strategy. Your tactics (skills) are good, (I saw you almost take out our pill line by running parallel to it within range of their heated pills; you also die WAY too much).
Strategy: read Samhain’s guide every now and then. The better you become, the more it makes sense. Watch 1x1s with Spin (he and gb are the only ones who seem to 1x1 anymore), or whatever you can get your hands on. Play 1x1 with Jon or anyone who is up for it. You will lose games, but you can’t get better by just winning. It is how you deal with the loss that matters.

Accept it as one of many strategies in the game of Bolo. Improve it, and you will get even better. More importantly, is being more open minded. You won’t change your strategy in a team game, instead you expect everyone else to change their strategy. Talking to you is like talking to a Chinese dude halfway across the world who doesn’t understand what you are saying.

Sensitivity can be seen as a weakness, but every person sees and perceives things and others in their own way and I’m too old to change. This is probably one of many coping mechanisms I have used in my life.
