Do Not Wall In Builders

Sep 07, 2003 16:23 Do Not Wall In Builders
It probably can't be proven that walling in someone's builder is cheating. However, it's poor gameplay and poor sport. I will immediately quit any game when someone walls in my builder. DON'T WALL IN PEOPLE'S BUILDERS. IT'S LIKE PUTTING A PILL RIGHT NEAR THE RESPAWN. People here all have something they get aggravated about, whether its lag, hacks, ops, whatever. Well this is mine.

Actually, let them wall in your builder, just be at the other side of the map when they shoot it, then the LGM will come back the other way right to you. Or, while their walling in your builder, wall them in, its pretty funny, ask Mad Scout.

I suppose it could be entertaining, but cheap tactics like that get annoying after a while...

walling in builders isnt really cheating...it may be cheap, as elvis has said before, but its really quite hard to do..... :?

If the player is good enough/wants to waste time adn resources he should be able to wall in your builder, its part of the game so it should be used to the fullest extent while playing to make your game more rounded

Please visit the following link which discusses some of the intricacies faced by players:

There is one section devoted to walling in LGMs along with other things like bases and tanks.

Walling in a persons builder teaches an important lession, keep your lgm safe! I for one love to kill builders, build them in, and kill them some more! I will even give up a bill I'm carrying to kill a builder, that how much I enjoy it. If your builder gets blocked in, just go over and shot it out or kill it, it's that simple, and then don't lose it again. So just to give you fair warning, if I see your lgm anywhere near me, consider it shot or built. I would say lgm killing/building is one of the highest forms of bolo skill, done well, so practice and perfect it.

Walling in a -moving- LGM is something that is helpful skill to have. You need to have played long enough to know stuff like the LGMs speed on certain terrain, the speed of your own LGM, when to release your LGM, angle of your release, angle of return for enemy's LGM, etc.

I originally thought it was a cheating, maxx, then I decided it was a 'cheap tactic' then I learned its ok or even recommended. I still don't think it's fair though.

I think walling in builders is fine, its part of the game, if builders werent meant to be walled in, instead of landing ontop of the wall, it will drop to the side. its part of strategy, like walling in bases, walling in tanks, walling in whatever. walls are for walling in stuff (or shielding stuff). But what really pisses me off is when a team mate is watching you shoot down this pill, and then when you kill it, the team mate races you to the pill and takes it!!!! it makes me so angry!! or also when team mates try to race eachother to get dead pills (your on the same team!!!!). People who shoot down pills should get to keep their pill unless it was the enemy that swooped down and took the pill (thast ok and fair) but your team mate isnt ok!!

These are typically newbie tendencies. They think they because they can get there first, they deserve it even though they may not have a clue as to where to plant it. As you start playing with more and more experienced players, they realize that teamwork is sometimes involved in taking a pill (or set of pills). They may do a triple take and leave 1 or both pills for you depending on the situation.

But can you be entirely sure your teammates are watching when you think they're watching you take the pill Mecha? They may be near, but their attention is diverted to other action. They may see the dead pill and rush down to take it if enemies are close, and, your teammate may have more armor than you. If you don't trust your teammate to practice good pill placement once they pick 'em up, don't ally them. I've killed pills many times and allies have grabbed them. I don't mind if they don't do something stupid. I agree with your complaint but am citing exceptions. For instance, in a decoy, the tank not shooting the pill will be closer to it to pick it up. However, if players are just sitting there and then rushing down alongside you to get it, that's not good at all. They aren't helping in that case. They should help you kill it and then protect your flank on retreat or you protect them.
