starting winbolo stats over again

wow, this is the first post I have EVER made in these forums... hehe..

I don't know if it's been thought of, but it would be a good idea if the player stats (tank kills, bases, pills, wins and losses, etc) were started over again at the beginning of 2004. maybe archive the 2003 stats, but have new stats for a brand new year for a few reasons:

1. hopefully by then there will be a way to prevent people from padding their stats by playing themselves. So we'll see more legit stats from people. Anybody seen bluesnake playing himself for hours? and now look at his tank kills stats! He's the all time leader! he is soooooooo good at killing tanks, i'm very impressed.

2. some people play bolo for a while and do well, and then stop for a while, and maybe get going again later. We could then say that player X was ranked #5 overall in 2004, while they barely played at all in 2003 giving them a ranking of #78 overall.

Also, as far as I know, nobody has organized a tournament since winbolo.net has started. The last one that was attempted was in january I think, and it was never finished. I think it'd be great to have one now that winbolo.net is here and we have stats and LOGS that authenicate games.

Who really cares about tank kills?
And why do you suddenly care about the stats, every time I asked you why you wern't playing with your user name you replyed "WBN is nothing".

i would like to pull the ''stop shit slingin'' flag here everything counts....tank kills are as inportant to some people as pills or bases....id concentrate more on the win but in the long run that shit counts...i guess

when do i say that? I don't recall ever saying that Jhood... I remember being asked that by a couple people once, and I explained that in one game I got dropped and had to "change my name" to rejoin since *Mad Scout was already in the game, still. So I go in as "Mad Scout..." or something like that.

hmmmm, ill ponder this.

I agree with the stat restarts. Maybe however, we could take it in a new direction. For example - there could be daily/weekly/monthly/yearly stats, for those people (like me) who play sparatically. Then the games could be archived and history is made. What do you think?

I think monthly would be good. I don't know about weekly or daily though, since some people play about every day and some only on weekends. But monthly would be good, since some people might take a few weeks off from time to time. As I type this, I'm ranked #2 in strict tourn. games. :D But I haven't played a strict 1x1 with my registered name in how long???? lol

Plus it doesn't seem like strenth of schedule is figured in there too much. I've played alot of powderpuffs, not too many zachs or sheepss. I feel like I'm the Kansas St. of winbolo. :oops:

Oh, and another thing, I just thought about...

when two people are tied for 3rd place, the next person behind them in the standings is in 5TH place, not 4th, right? I wonder if that could be fixed...

Yea, Monthly would be good Scout. Now, if we can get the Admins' attention...
