can't join

When i try to join a game i get an error that says "invalid username/password" What does this mean and how can i fix it. :?:

ya gotta have the exact name typed in the name box to get it ta work

In WinBolo, you need to change your name to Gold, as thats what you registered as. Then, at the main WinBolo screen click the 'WinBolo.net Settings' button. Then enter what password you use to log into the forums here.

would be nice if you could change your name at the Winbolo.net settings screen, or have a winbolo:\\ link that enables it

addy has been my name for years, I suggest something alil more ,.,... hrm not used!

secondly are u logged into winbolo.net,?
if so you have to make sure that you go into winbolo.net settings and make sure your .net name and password is init, then make sure that when you join a game your name is matched up with the name you are registered with in .net.

Downside: they asked the same question the original poster asked and didn't seem to read my above post stating how to solve this problem.

I am not so sure; I really liked the first addy and maybe the world would be a better place if we had one or two more of them. We could have a nice one for rainy days and a surly one to set on unsuspecting newbies and one with incredible dress sense for those difficult days when you are not sure if it should be the black jacket or the green wooly hat.

Please provide the error message you are receiving. Prefereably word for word. Also please provide information on what you are trying to do? Are you trying to join a game on the internet? Can you join but can not use your winbolo.net account?

the error page says this page canot be displayed

and it says it might have been removed or name chaged

Raven, can I make a suggestion. At a time like this when we're trying to encourage n00bs to join the community, its not very wise to slag them off or be offensive.

Obviously we're never going to have a total life of harmony here or anywhere else in the world but at least pick on more established members that aren't likely to leave at the first sign of hostility. Give MaddMaxx a shout, he likes a good flame war, eh Maxx :wink:

What error page? What page were you visiting wihle trying to join the game? Is WinBolo causing the error or is internet explorer?

If it is internet explorer then I can guess that perhaps you are clicking on a winbolo:// link to join a game but are unable to do so? In that case you may not have a copy of WinBolo installed and configured? Do you? Can you start a single player game?

What are the parents supposed to do? Watch over their kids 24/7? Kids gotta go to school... and I don't really understand what's so bad about profanity. I've never heard an explanation against profanity that was complete bullshit...

For profanity......Here 'tis: Cultures set standards for behavior. Like dressing appropriately in public, showing respect where due, placing value on human life and the environment., etc. Using insulting language as a part of regular speech, especially with children, is an indicator of a breakdown in standards. Everything is interconnected. We see profanity as the norm now. We see a lack of respect to 'elders' as the norm now. We see nude people in public view as the norm now. We have a law that legalizes murder. We place more importance on corporations than the survival of our biosphere. All of these things are recent events and tie together to show a trend toward the destruction of a society, (our) society. Why care? No big deal? When do we draw the line? What's wrong? What's right? Who cares? Why do you suppose much of the world sees America as a bloated teenager with a gun? 'Cause here, anything goes! Gay marriage! Sure! Next we'll have legalized beastiality! Reminds me of Sodom and Gomorrah. The use of profanity by the young will always be a signal of social disease to me. I'm proud to adhere to standards, but I can't push them on anyone except the kids I may someday be responsible for.

You may as well say that. Obviosuly, parenting does shit when it comes to drugs, cussing and all that other stuff. Yeah, there are a couple "good" kids but the majority cuss.
