The Lord Of The Rings

Oct 31, 2003 07:34 The Lord Of The Rings
I just created a map but it seems these days I'm never on when there is a decent number of others around so I would like to make a request. I just made a new map (see my profile "Ess-K" to get it) and would appreciate it if a few of you would try it out for me and give some feedback.

Moved this to Winbolo General.

Also added the map to sheepbot, so other players (or yourself) can start the map from there.

Do you have anything in a light pink or perhaps a milky orange.
Bright green is passe.

No light pink or oranges Desmo my friend but we do have a team of highly qualified programmers working to create a totally new colour never before seen, watch this space.....

Nov 01, 2003 05:29 Feedback... my brain hurts
Nice to see some of you guys tried it out, but I'm being told big maps are good but also they're bad.

Ess-K faces a dilema but going on personal opinion I prefer medium maps, if they're to big then you're driving around for ages and it gets a bit boring but if you make it to small then you're in a constant firefight and there is no time to plan strategies and such like.

Thanks for the feedback though guys, its much appreciated. I think Middle Earth may soon be getting smaller, poor old Golem will have to do without his Misty Mountains to the East

Can't wait for the final LoTR film to be released over here, its going to be an amazing finish to the trilogy, nothing can compare to the book though.

Not sure if your looking for somthing to do, but if you wanted to collaborate on an actual middle earth map (the one tolkien created) for this game I could provide you with a basis map done quickly for you to make bolo-worthy...

Okay, Gandalf-wannabe freak.

ATStriker, any maps or ideas you have made will be gladly looked over. I'd never actually thought of creating a replica of Middle Earth as the map had set out but now I think about it, that would actually be quite a good idea. My Email address can be got through my profile, look forward to seeing your ideas.

Bought Two Towers Extended addition yesterday and I still believe this film rocks!!! C'mon Sauron, is that all you got???

Why does everyone not like big maps they rock i love big maps.

Its sorta wierd everyone makes small maps i feel closed in when i play small maps like i cant go anywere to get away from someone. so i only make big maps like the ones in my collection and i would like to play on one of my maps sometime but someone else has to start it cause my game will make a game and nobody can play my game. so maybe sheeps you could start one or two of my maps please.

Ky, sheeps already hosts peoples maps, all you got to do is put them on sheepbot on mIRC. Once he's recieved your map you can start games through him using the normal methods and hey presto, you got your map on .net to play :)

Incidentally, I agree that big maps are better, small maps are fun but its nice to occasionally get a map that will take more than 10 minutes to win on, big maps require a lot of strategy and time to win which is way more fun in my mind.
