Elvis: No space for wbn names anymore?

I just tried to register a name I've been using for a few days that I really like, however when I tried to register it says it does not allow names with spaces. In the past I did registered names with spaces and I thought that was a very unique and great thing about WBN.

I wonder why it was removed - did it cause a bug in Winbolo? Any chance you might be able to add it again in the future?

Yes an oversight of mine when I setup WBN. Spaces are not allowed in WBN names. This decision was made as I one day hope to hook everyones account up to a @winbolo.net email address automatically. So fi@winbolo.net would work. This would be something you could turn on or off in your profile.

Man this guys is clever. Thinks of everything, WinBolo Email addresses n'all. Its times like this I wish I hadn't fried my brain with beer and cheap wine all those years ago. I miss those brain cells... they woz my friends :P

Thanks for the explanation Elvis. That makes sense. I wonder though, since the spaces cause no bugs in WBN or in Winbolo, what about enabling it again, and those of us with names that have spaces can just go without the email addy when you give out email addys? I really would love to register Evil Hampster - having a space in a name was a pretty unique and enjoyable feature of WBN as just about most other games I know of will not allow spaces in name. If not, no biggie. I just thought spaces in name was pretty nifty.

I guess in my mind, having spaces in names outweight the possibility of getting emails with the addy @winbolo.net.

Having emails with @winbolo.net is cool though, very nice idea, but if I was asked to choose between the two, I'd choose the spaces. But I respect whatever decision you make on this issue, as it doesn't really change the winbolo gameplay.

I found out that you couldn't use a space when i tried to register the name 'Non Winbolo.net participant'
