* Skin support: Zip files containing skins can now be used. Skins can contain a new window background, new game graphics and sounds. An information file can also be placed which will can contain your name, notes or any other information about the skin. The format for skins are bitmaps and sounds are wav files. I'll be putting up the default skin shortly so skin authors can start working off that. (Note that graphics are 16x16 currently and stretched to 32x32 when played in double size view. A future version of WinBolo may support a seperate skin file to use in double size view mode.

1.14 is still progressing well.

32x32 skins can now be included in a skin set as well as 16x16. Note that 32x32 do not scale from double size view to any others.

What is the window background? The gray part known as the main window or the black backgrounds behind the pill and base counters, nearest base statistics, LGM status, deaths and kills, and tank stats?

Its the winbolo window.

So I'm guessing there's still blackboxes behind such things as the kill and death counter and tank statistics in the right-most pane.

At this stage yes.

It seems like some brand-new features are coming out ahead of several unaddressed bug fixes that have been repeatedly requested.

Please, please take some time to experiment with a new respawn algorithm. Current respawns in 1.13 are often quite senseless; with some respawns in the same location 15 times in a row. Stimpy is right; bug fixes need to take the front burner, ahead of things like skins. Balanced respawns is something that's just screaming for a fix.

Elvis has a specific plan for how things will be done ... don't expect anything new like this to be added to his things to do list for 1.14
