Winbolo.net should start an Internet Winbolo League. there could be two

leagues, one for 1x1s and another for teams.

Thank You!

I never played the winbolo IBL, but isn't winbolo.net basically an IBL of its own?

ibl was made for 2x2 games of 3 rounds each, winbolo.net is basically an ibl for 1x1. Im not sure how the team games work, but if elvis could make a strict for 2x2 only then that would be cool, rather than having teams of like 6 people..b/c u know west wont hold that many! I see gthe top ranked player for strict as being an ibl for a 1x1 situation. Is it possible to make a 2x2 so that u dont have to join every team to be able to play 2x2 with diff people....hmm do i make any sense?.oh well later all

Teams can be of any size. 2 people, 6 people.... 7 people.

Team ranking works the same as 1x1 rankings. Only a team can only be ranked against another team.

Currently there is no modifications or handicapping done based on team size.

Actually, a 2x2 ibl league is a cool idea.

While it's too early to tell, it seems to me teams aren't being used as much as the single player ladder. This is likely because it's difficult to get everyone together. My observation is that teams are being treated more of a clan sort of thing - a status, a group you're part of, rather than the ladder.

While I'm hoping to be proven wrong, I have a feeling most team games will be the product of an ibl style league. All the power to min or anyone else if they want to run one!

Elvis, i guess thats what i was trying to get at. Making a team say 2x2, help out you ranking as a player (not as a team) like ibl did. Instead, u have it to where a team is only reanked against other teams, rather than having the single players on each to go up in ranks if they win or down if they lose.

funny funny hehehe.

Can you say "Wintermute"?

Name of the first person who started IBL...back in the summer of 1995. Jolo is the current holder of all the IBL scripts and webpage. Min is the only one who has been brave enought to use IBL with winbolo so far.....

well, the community has evolved quit a bit since the last IBL. I've even considered starting it again. of course if this happened I would first spend quit a long time programming some stuff to make it alot easier ... and I would put together a large set of rules for people to follow .. (like shutting the hell up before the divisions are choosen) the IBL was a very very frustrating experiance ... 10 weeks of hell I would say. but strangely, I'm still willing to give it another go ... I just have to prepare properly for it.

Another IBL would be great but as I saw the IBL admins had a hard time. Rules, attitude, and skills are basically what IBL admins really wanted last IBL. But it wasn't that easy to "get the players where they wanted them".

I believe the hardest decisions for IBL are scheduling the time to hold the IBL. I would recommend we have a poll, whether it being in another post or directly from/on the site.

2x2 teams are a great idea but what would be the point if the 2 best players match up? Most likely player would not even enter the 2x2 ladder. IBL is already played by 2x2's i think thats good enough but if people really want a 2x2 ladder, ill support it i guess. A 4x4 ladder would make it more interesting i think. The outcomes would be more difficult to judge. The only concern is "lag".

An open IBL would also be a little interesting. Obviously first team to gain all the pillboxes wins. I would think many would participate, but for the IBL admins to give up extra time for that would be up to them.

Also as Min said the last IBL was a little frustrating...From people simply not listening to not enough people showing up. I wouldnt think people showing up would be a problem now considering almost twice or more players play winbolo now, but for people not listening or following rules. Lets hope players have learned how to be polite and for the new players that have not been in an IBL, i would follow the rules carefully and if you lose. Accept it.

Last thing is the IBL admins should be a little more "in charge". If you have problems with a player, resolve to banning them from IBL for a week or 2, or removing them completely.
Need any extra help, i will help if needed.

a couple of things ajr, the time the IBL is held has to conicide with who is controlling it. I can't host the IBL while I'm at work, or sleeping.

The reason I was not able to be "in charge" of the last IBL as you say. is because if I banned all the disruptive people. noone would be left to play. which will still be a concern becuase even though there are more players. not that many people will be able to show up when I will be able to host it.

Another consideration is that Liz will be unlikely to want to be a IBL organizer. and I won't be doing all the organizing by myself.
