Why the hell would someone move from Canada to a lesser, overcrowded country like japan? U have family there or something?

There's probably the same number of Michiganders as Canadians that play, if not more. Already we've had 3 post from Michigan and I know there's lots more out there. Must be the water, eh?

This is coming from a person who said something to the effect of "I am a fan of equality amongst peoples."
Jan 07, 2004 04:12
I am, totally, for peoples. But im not for equality of countries. United Nations voted us #1 country to live in.
Jan 07, 2004 04:54
So you don't give a shit if a country's economy is lowered, government collapses, is invaded, etc...? Countries aren't just pieces of land, money and government, there's people in there, too. Calling a country "lesser" is an insult to its people.

How are the banjo lessons ud?
I spent a week in Mishima once. It was very disorienting.
Simple things that you take for granted like starting a book at ehhhh
the beginning turned out to be completely arbitrary. In Japan they
start at the ehhhh other end. On the surface, everything looks very western (Coca cola, banjos, business suits) but it is only a thin veneer.
Underneath it all, it is a very different place. It made me appreciate Japanese tourists more. For them, the US or Europe must seem bizarre
and even barbaric. It took me months when I got back to stop nodding and making little half bows everytime I met someone.

But countries exist because there are many different groups of 'peoples'. As to your opinion that peoples are equal, I can agree. As to your opinion that countries aren't equal, I also agree. But Canada isn't the best country to live in if you can't take the cold. When I went to Quebec, it was -20F and ice was floating in the St. Lawrence. When I got back to Maine, it was +10F and felt great. Nah, you go ahead and keep your cold, MM, I'll take New England.
