No, sheeps, these are not playable. I'm going to take a break from making tourny maps for a while until I get some cool ideas.

And let me say: that's annoying!

Since I take the new maps and use them for my open autospawn games, the no-base maps are going to kill the spawner! So either I have to remove your un-spawnable maps manually or just remove all Nova maps....hmm....

<sheepbot> There are a total of 4036 maps on this bot. Of those, 120 are from Acro, 140 are from Nova, and 82 are from Q. Cloud-Wane has 205 & Cyrano has 101. Use sheepbot maplist for complete list.

uh-huh .... thats pretty lame sheeps ... why don't you just fix your spawner so it doesn't do that? .... rather than getting mad a poor nova for expressing his creativity.

Sheeps: Fast and easy solution. Run a search for "(Nova) EG" and you should have all of my baseless maps right there for ya. You can either move them from your auto-spawner or you can completely delete them from there. It's up to you.

Great story... *sigh* I was working on this huge-ass art map. It was one of the EG ones. I had it all done, except for the outside colors. So I thought, "Hey, I'll put a mixture of swamp and forest around the edges." Since I didn't feel like doing this all by hand, I copied and pasted the swamp/forest in... right after I had cut the whole damn map out of the file. Since the clipboard can't have two items in it at once, it wiped my whole damn map. *sob* Now it's gone...
Apr 12, 2004 04:32
...needless to say, this means that there'll be a longer-than-normal delay for a new map.

Ah Min,

Nice try, but this is a winboloDS error that has existed for as long as I have known.

And I can't give up picking on that punk Nova!

ok buddy, your attitude is seriously beginning to piss me off .... I'm guessing your refering to the "no start points on map, so I start you in the middle of the mines" bug ...... I can think of at least one way of working around this 'bug' in a spawner ... perhaps you should think about it for a minute and *gasp* you MAY be able to add features that can work around these problems ........ why don't you start trying to improve things .. rather than bitching about them.

Guess you don't like my sarcastic tone there Min, but I figured that was better then getting bitchy like yours.

No, I'm not referring to start points.

I referring to winbolods having troubles starting maps when there are no bases. I have mentioned this long ago and is nothing new. I don't consider this a bug or something that requires 'fixing', as it only comes in handy for jousts and art maps, not 'serious games'.

And Min, you take me way too seriously. I was not planning on removing all of Nova's maps, and it doesn't seem like he took it that way. I just like to provide information related to spawning to the map makers... in my own special way.

weeeeeeeeeeeee.... :P

and like I said, code a workaround into your spawner. I can think of at least 2 ways to deal with this problem..... and in fact ... I know a couple spawners that already fixed this problem ...... why don't you just use those?

I was beginning to think that this post might be an exception to the always-flamewar rule... but it just took an extra 27 pages to get there. Wow...
