newswire messages

Is there any way to change the messages that the newswire says? Everytime someone captures two bases it takes 10 seconds for the whole thing to scroll.... across.... the screen.... is it possible to shorten the messages, like by editing the .exe file? or are they linked to the server? :?

i noticed that you cant open any menus in game when the msg bar is going. this gets very annoying.needs to be fixed.

I think there is a brain circulating that when activated, will open up a small DOS window and output everything any player says in an IRC fashion instead of scrolling it along a window. If this style of a brain could be implemented for all the other Newswire messages, it'd be very helpful.

I know that Minborg scrolled the messages (ask Min if he is still giving this out), I have used Namik for this reason, which can be found on the add-ons page.

Minborg doesn't scroll any messages other than the messages sent via message. I'm still giving it out to people who email and ask for it. I no longer provide it for download otherwise.
