New maps included with new version?

Jan 18, 2004 02:09 New maps included with new version?
I've only been around since the release of 1.08 but one thing has remained unchanged: the maps included in the winbolo installation. The 33 map sample does seem like a well-rounded group which includes Chew Toy 3, Easter Island III, Wash DC, Harvard Yard, Cognitive Disonance and others. But with the added feature of the Map Archive for each WinBolo.net account and the recently ended map contest, there has been an explosion of new maps.

So my question to the community is should there be new maps included with the new version of 1.14? If so, which ones? Should the older maps be swapped-out or left in the mini-archive? Keep in mind that there is not just one kind of style of game, style of play, or type of player. All of these would need to be accomodated for.

Just dump Cloud-Wane's collection into the new version. There's enough good maps there for Rand McNally. :D

Throw in some game-theme type of maps. I've got about 4 in my collection that all look like fun. Perhaps someone could browse the map collection and select the "best of" maps from each player and add a folder to the map collection. "Nova's Maps." "Acro's Maps."

I say leave the mini-archive alone, due to the advent of features such as map collections, it makes it very very easy for people to simply download any maps they like.
