- Thought about changing the name to "Silver Lining," but I liked this bizarre phrase better. What I was trying to accomplish on this map was a map where a spike through the center was possible, but going through the center to vulture would be quite difficult. However, later on in the game, if a player wishes, he can use the trees in the center to build roads over the shallow water and go into enemy territory to launch an attack like that. There's also a road behind the trees, although you have to build in to get to the mainland. I'm pretty sure it's damn inconvienient to use, but it might make for some interesting situations.

A nice bigger map. I'm quite sure players won't bother to try to use the middle, just like they won't bother to use the middle of my Tapestry map. In heated tournament games, time and resources are critical; most of the time players will be unable to alter the map significantly without losing battles on their pill lines. Notice how just a few tiny blocks on Chew serve as barriers quite well. Just a few trees or swamp squares can significantly steer pillwars on any open terrain map. Nice concentric design. Has Stupid Jockey given you his new mapmaker yet?

Nope. This was done with some good ol'-fashioned BoloReich. I made the concentric design in paint and then counted the squares over, yaddayaddayadda. Well, even if the center is pretty much unuseable, perhaps if gameplay styles change for some reason the center will be useable then. Whateve.r
