(Excerpt from the anthology "Tales of the Sighters," Dumbass Press, London 1965 Out of print.) "One morning I woke to find half of my backyard missing. The earth had turned inside out, it seemed, with grass and topsoil everywhere. The grass left intact in the surrounding area had become burned and blackened. Why there was not a fiery blaze, I did not know. It took me a couple seconds in my fatigued state to realize that I was looking at a crater. I figured it was some sort of meteor, and ventured down into the crater to check. Inside, there was a capsule, containing one of the strangest objects that I have seen in my entire life. It was an irregular, yet symmetrical shape and covered in some sort of green slime. Curious to see what I'd found, I asked a friend of mine with access to a full-fledged scientific lab. He could not examine the object under an electron microscope, since the object was undoubtedly organic, so his view of the molecular world of this strange object was limited. However, he said that he definitely saw neurons, synapses and other things that identified the object as some sort of brain. He was able to find DNA inside the brain, and what he found was shocking. Instead of having the regular four bases of DNA, there were ten, all having a peculiar structure never seen before on the earth. All evidence pointed to the object being extraterrestrial. My friend let me examine the brain under a microscope, which he had cut in half to gain a greater understanding of what was inside. I saw the green goop on the outside, and a lighter shade of green on the inside, surrounded by some sort of black matter. An increase in the magnification revealed a small object travelling across the entire hemisphere, and I counted fifteen or sixteen red things that shot at the object. There were also about the same amount of yellow things that the object rested on, sometimes for minutes at a time. This strange and bizarre find led me to one inescapable conclusion... Nova needs to drink less caffeine."

Yes, it's very much like a map I'd make. Good play. Will be fun. I did read your blurb; darned if it didn't remind me of the way I wrote the blurb for (Nova) Sentage.

Heh. That's kinda where I got the idea from. :) I also stole some technical shit from Dan Brown's "Deception Point" and the movie "Evolution." I had also read somewhere that organic matter cannot be examined under an electron microscope since you need a vaccuum inside the tube, yadda yadda yadda. I had fun with it. :) I'm glad you liked the map!
