New Players inheriting the World, its too horrible to imagin

I have never used the 1 handed key setup. I use a key setup that most dont use but it works out well for me, here it is... I use the arrows to move my tank, space bar to shoot, M is mine, comma or , is my pillview and period or . is my tank view. I use A to increase my turret and z to decrease, for my scroll keys I use S to scroll up and X to scroll down D to go left and C to go right. This key setup might sound foreign to some people but after playing bolo nonstop for a couple of months you get used to using your right hand to go the mouse while your left hand drives. For my mouse I also have a tracker ball so it makes it alot eaiser because I can put my mouse over a spot and then leave it there while I scroll then, if I need to fix alls I have to do is click even if I'm on the other side of the map.

A story that Illustrates the above point:

I just now got done playing a game with me, Jman, and 2 newbies by the name of Samurai and Sk8rpyro. Perhaps you've seen them in the past week or so. Samurai has even made a few posts here on wbn. It was me and Jman vs. the other 2. Probably not the best matchup but that's beside the point.

We spent so much time trying to get the game started properly I was about to rip my hair out. Sk8rpryo was on land and wouldn't get off, then he took a base. We asked him to leave and come back, which he did, so that was good. But then when he came back he got on land again. So Samurai go on and took some trees and boxed him in. Sk8r didn't like this, but sam said "it's ok once we start the game I'll let you out" :shock:
I told them that the best way was for sk8r to leave and come back, and it actually took a while to convince him that this really was the best way. Then he leaves and comes back, and procedes to take trees and box Samurai in for revenge!! I then ask them "DO YOU GUYS WANT TO PLAY WINBOLO OR NOT???" :evil: So Samurai leaves and comes back, Jman and I are still allied, onside, waiting patiently, and sk8r pyro asks "wait, what teams again?". I tell him it's you and Samurai vs. me and jman. Get allied and get south, then we'll say go.

Well we FINALLY got the game started. And of course it was a joke. For some reason they started out by getting only 3 bases out of 16, and no pills. They had secured a whole quad though... and as I hesitated to spike, I noticed both newbie allies sitting on the bases in their quad and shooting each other. :roll:

When the game was about to end, Sk8rpyro says, "this game sucks". Well I guess what do you expect.

That's what we "old persons" would like to see: You new players learning the game and its skills and strategies well enough so that you could at least compete with us, even beat us. And as long as you are open minded and listen to the advice of those that are more experience, that will happen in the long run.
