smallball tourny? :)
Mar 06, 2006 04:03
Yes, and yes... If we have enough interest. I take it that we might? :) Let me give some thought as to how to have two going on at the same time.

I'm interested too, even if during the lasts tourny I didn't found anyone of my division to play a game :(

:?: Why don't you all live in the same hour than France :?:

Does anyone have suggestions on how long it should run and what divisions there should be? I think the novice, intermediate, advanced worked best so far. One month? Three months?

For smallball... Since the games go so fast, how about a single division with shorter (1 month? 1 week?) leagues?

My ideas are a monthly tourny based on current divisions with an added free-style level where the outcome would score lower then an official game.

Smallball could be 1x1, best of out three with again more of a free-style division than anything based on skill level.

Another idea would be a 2x2 or more team game tournament.

And other stuff.

Yeah, I concur with you Fermat. A smallball doesn't need different division - one division is enough. I'd suggest a one month timeframe as one week is too short. I'd suggest best of 15 games, considering that a smallball game can last just one minute, and that it's much easier for weaker skilled player to beat better skilled players at 1v1.

how about some one veteran player with a bunch of noobs on their team and same goes for the other team... to see if you can actually win with a bunch of noobs.. instead of having the best fighting against the weakest....

hey, im wondering what division i would fall into. somewhere between inter. and advanced. ? i can ass rape Cf's man when hes on my team... if that helps.

Ok, leagues are up...

http://fermat.winbolo.us/bolo

Click "league" for the normal league, and "smallball" for the smallball league... I set the regular league to end April 30, and the smallballl will be for the month of March ending March 30.

I also set the # of games for smallball to be 7 instead of 3. So you will play each player in your division up to 7 times each.

Patience please while I work out the kinks in getting the two leagues to coexist peacefully... Please report any bugs to fermat@winbolo.net.

Have fun!

Great. Thanks for restarting it up Fermat.

I've upped the division player limit to 10. Seems there are too many players who want into the Advanced division. Perhaps we need an Advanced 1 and Advanced 2? Thoughts?

A lot of people have trouble registering and enrolling on the league site, mainly due to their wbn email forwarding not being turned on.

If you wish, simply post here or send an email to fermat@winbolo.net and tell me which league and division you would like to enroll in, and I can add you easily in seconds.

Fermat i believe that would be an excellent idea to make two advanced categories. Well done ferm :o

Fermat, on the signup screen, could you just put a box in where you can enter your email address if you don't have wbn forward enabled?

That would simplify things a lot

What about just having one really big division for all players who want to be in the advanced division?

The whole point of sending to your wbn email was to verify that you are who you say you are.
Mar 09, 2006 05:38
That is a good point... but it would kinda record that person's nickname's stats... if they use winbolo.net. so you need the winbolo.net password for the tourney to record your wins/losses.

Am I correct here?
