So me and erebus thought it would be a grand idea to make a ventrilo server to enhance the experience of the game. At the moment, we are testing the server through a bought server.
HOW TO SETUP
(1) Download the ventrilo client from
here.
(2) Install your client
(3) Open up ventrilo. Click the arrow across from username, and input a name
(4) Click the arrow across from server. Fill in the following
Host: 64.34.199.107
Port: 5144.
(5) Apply the settings and click connect!
Note:
(1) You
do not need a mic to use this, it is recommended however. You can sit in and listen, its better then not listening to your team mates with a mic.
(2) A couple people have managed to use headphones as a mic via plugging it into their mic jack.

yes you need a headset, but im using a singing mic. And yes, it is like teamspeak.

There is a new server up currently that I am paying for, Its up for one month and if we all use it enough.. It will stay online
As of now, its open to all.. If you ABUSE it. YOU WILL BE BANNED NO EXCEPTIONS. Also.. be kind If youre in a game with someone dont yell at them for messing up, we all have diffrent levels of play and you should accept that. I wont tolerate players fighting with each other. PERIOD.
If you dont have a mic, youre welcome to join anyways and listen in.
As of now, me and harl are the two ops. Please dont ask for ops.

i haven't had the time to test this yet and i'll have to find my mic. But will we be able to communicate with just our team? or will the sound always go to every1?
there are seperate rooms set for teams
well overall i think its a great idea.. sometimes i'll get killed when i try to type somethin so this should stop that.

Or you guys could always run the free server and client instead of the newer ones. I'm sure bus could easily find the .exe's for those.
We tried that, none of us have an amazing enough connection to run a server.
pretty cool. Took a minute to figure out...but it definitely has potential.
i recommend everyone go out and waste about 20 bucks on a decent headset if u play this game at all. its so much more fun when u can just say what u need to say and not type it.

Nemo sounds hawt
Sticks has a cute laugh
Stimpy sounds calming
Lance is, well lance
DS has a contagious laugh
Bruce can sing
ADD has just the right music to play bolo by
Bus has bus'isms -- "ohhhh yeaaaaah"
UD and Indy don't sound at all like brothers
Lucky actually sounds 'together'
Harl sounds patient
Boss sounds like um, Boss
Stryder sounds like a late night DJ
Siren is a heavy breather
Spin doesn't sound at all (get a mic)
e-Dawg 'sounds'
And Chaps, Kilo, Poe & Elosito all sounds alike to me - very quiet

yeah thanks to the guys that set this up. i used to always get killed while typing cuz im a slow typer, still do cuz not everyone has ventrilo. thanks to chewtoy for helping me get it and set it up. and for all u laptop users u dont need to invest in a headset. my built in webcam/mic works just fine but i had to amp up the incoming to hear people over the tank shots and such but other than that it works like a champ.
I have noticed people from other games coming to the winbolo server and using it for the games they are playing are you gonna ban those people?
