But if sadam is in any trouble Bush should be also, he didnt exactyl kill only the bad guys. Salim snuck out of Iraq about 12 years ago, right now he is 21 if he were in iraq still he would be dead. I did see where we found another undisclosed nuclear facility, and we've been digging up numerous areas of the desert since the prefered method of iraqi complience of UN directives was to bury their weapons (Oh, you LITERALLY meant to destroy them). We've found some chemical and conventional weapons, and have found lots of delivery systems. What I remember before we went into iraq was the "weapons of mass destruction" was one of the ten or so points on why we were going in.

Maxx, When the Gulf war ended, iraq agreed to UN weapons inspectors, that they would destroy all missles that had a range of more than 50 miles, destory all chemical and biological weapons, adhere to the no fly-zones, make restition to Kuwait, end all nuclear development. So no, they did not have that right. saddam agreed to these conditions and how many did he honor... zero, zippo, nada.
What did he do? His method of destroying the weapons was to bury them in the desert. Built another nuclear facility. Screw the no-fly zone, and dump nerve gas on the Kurds, buy a couple of wood chippers for amusement purposes, and kick the UN inspectors out.
Maybe you would like him as your next door neighbor? Or, better yet: Maybe you two should get married.
Hrmmm, you say you are against nuclear weapons in iraq, but u forgot that america and russia both have stores of nuclear weapons. I think that if iraq cannot have nuclear weapons, neither should america or russia or north korea. Btw, where were these "no-fly" zones located? (just curious)

I couldn't be bothered reading all the posts so this may have already been said but I'll still say it anyway.
To execute Saddam would be pointless, other than the pain of an execution (which is usually painless anyway) what suffering will he have? If he was to be imprissoned for the rest of his days with no chance of release would that not be a much morre fitting punishment.
If he was to be imprissoned in Iraq then that would be even better as the conditions there will be much worse than even Guantamo Bay. To summarise, let him suffer a long, slow death rotting in a 8 by 8 cell for the rest of his days.
As for not having evidence, it was mentioned by someone earlier that is wrong. There are litterally thousands of witnessess to verify that their family members were taken and executed and tortured. Ex generals will testify on oath his evil orders and such like also. He was also a big fan of filming executions as well and can be seen in many of the videos.

It never fails to have some people pop-up and believe Bush is trying to conquer the world. What nonsense, if that was really Bush's motive, we'd have already owned everything, considering how powerful we are.
Bush's intention for a war on Saddam was to get him out of commission and punish him for his crimes; Weapons of mass destruction was just a potential motive, not the sole reason.
Besides, the grand majority of those living in Iraq hated Saddam. They were constantly under fear and oppression. Those of you who actually believe Saddam is an innocent man deserve to be kicked in the face.
I'm glad we had Bush in office, who took action, unlike Clinton who didn't accomplish anything at all, except cause our economy to fall and made our entire county look bad with him doing the wild thing.
