With all this in mind, do you think lrl should be banned for hacking in the tournament? if i am banned for hacking in a game with no meaingin whatsoever, just a game.. should lrl be banned for hacking in the tournament.

Until zach steps up and says "LRL was hacking!" there's no real proof that he hacked in the game. Now, I don't know zach personally but I imagine that he'd be screaming bloody murder if LRL hacked that game. Correct me if I'm wrong---did he ever do that?

The reason I stopped playing 1.08 was becuase of the advent of hacking ... and the inability to tell if anyone is cheating at anytime ... it breeds this mistrust .. and a realm of mistrust. Alot of accusations start getting thrown around. Instead of the game being fun, it turns into a flaming pit of retardedness. After 1.08, certain antihacking mechinism's were implemented that prevented certain forms of hacking. After awhile, it was discovered that hacking was still there, and could be done readily. This is one of the many reasons that I don't play very much winbolo right now, if a person uses their brain, they could easily hack without anyone knowing any better. A client hook that allows someone to refuel faster, or get armor, or even regenerate armor slowly overtime even though your not on a base (I'm sure it could be done) Would be very difficult for someone to detect. How would you know that your opponent was able to refuel on that base 4-5 seconds faster than they should have been able to normally. This of course doesn't seem like a problem to most people. but when your skill is so close to another persons that a single lgm kill, or a single misclick can be the difference between a defeat or a victory. It becomes a major problem in my opinion. The first thing people need to start doing is stopping the accusations, all it does is breed hatred, secondly, .us's policies (as flawed as they are) need to apply to everyone, including fi, lrl, sheeps, and UD ... they should be banned just like everyone else, for a length of time just like anyone else ... thats what you moron's would have wanted when I was controlling things ... hows it feel now that your wearing my shoes?.

Aye Minhiriath, FAR too many accusations. For example, i hacked a few times on ren's server (q-man hacked waaaaay more than me, and others hacked also), and then ren starts accusing me of hacking on every fucking server ever. Sure, i did it twice on sheepbot also (i quit permanatly soon afterwards). But now i am ban'd from pawnybot for NO FUCKING REASON AT ALL. I have NEVER hacked on pawnybot, not once. And thanks to ren's slanderous bullshit and accusations, i am ban'd from using pawnybot. What does anyone gain from this? NOTHING. Except maybe a few ppl (looks at ren) who might derive some sick, twisted pleasure from keeping ppl from playing winbolo, the shweetisht game.
I also agree that the policy should apply to EVERYONE EQUALLY, no matter who they are (Dz, or LRL). I have seen ppl violate the policy without so much as a kick, then i have seen some ppl just walk into the channel and be banned without reason. Some of the shit your saying min is finally making sense and i see why you don't bother IRC-ing anymore and don't play the game as much.

don't get me wrong maddmaxx ... I don't thinking there is any situation were hacking is acceptable, and if I was still in control, anyone who hacked .. ever .. EVER .. would be banned .. the problem is there is simply no way to prove anyone hacked, so people start accusing. You on the other hand... have admitted to hacking ... and I think should be removed from every bot, from every irc channel, and globally removed from the winbolo community until you beg for mercy over a long period of time ... but thats what i think should happen to anyone who hacks ....... but I also understand why you hacked in the first place .. and becuase its pretty much acceptable in certain situations in the current winbolo community ... I don't hold that against you. If it was shown that it was unacceptable right from the very beginning, you probably would never hacked in the first place.

I would be fine with a system like this. So long as everyone was treated fairly and equally. I even posted video proof (they say video doesn't lie) that masamune hacked and he's still not banned. I'm banned from all the servers w/o proof and it continually pisses me off. I think that elvis should make a built-in keyboard shortcut to use some sort of built-in video capture device (like a speilborg). This way, people would NEED proof to ban ppl from the bots and IRC.

MM, masamune was banned from sheepbot when I saw him hacking.

He was unbanned when he said he was sorry and he said he would not do it again, which to my knowledge has not happened. So the system works to discourage bad behavior. He was not the first nor last to be given a second chance.

You on the hand, have not tried to change your bahavior (in reality not words). You continue to not admit you did anything, yet I have heard from numberous credible players that you did hack (have you ever heard in court a witness giving proof? - same thing happens here).

hopefully the advent of logging will allow hackers and cheaters to be caught more efficiently. until then, either use spielborg, or use one of the onscreen video capture programs such as camtasia. ive had success with camtasia, and have a few dozen full games on video, with sound

how does it feel? just like it always has, just chirpy. people who break the rules are punished, and i have not ever once seen an exemption from that

Well, abuse is a better word then hack. He just went nuts starting, locking and killing games, just to be annoying. The best way to stop this kind of childlike behavior is to remove access.

I was under the impression that LRL admitted to it. Not in my tourny, but some other games. Opens I believe. However opens are non-pw games and according to the .us policy I think it's just no hacks in pw games. So I suppose one could hack in a strict or tourny game as long as it was no pw??

looks like i was wrong. after checking both fi's site and .us it clearly states no hacking at all. so, i'm not forsure why lrl didn't get banned. maybe that rule wasn't implemented until after.
