I posted this a little more than a year ago, and it seemed that it had some popularity. So once again: I don't actually expect Elvis to actually implement any of this shit, but it's fun to think of what might be. Post what you wish would be in the game. Here are some highlights of my last thread:

Indestructable terrain. It's sometimes a pain in the ass to have a game slowed down by shallow water in your quad or craters. This would also be very good if you wanted to have indestructable walls for a racing map, so that each player could have bullets and not have the ability to cheat.

Minor things: from-the-sea-shootable craters, mines that don't dissapear when shot on rubble from the sea.

Practice Pill-taking mode. This would allow you to get yourself in the correct position for a pilltake without having your block destroyed. When you felt ready to fire, you would hit a key that would "turn on" the pills and let them start firing upon you. In the same breath, a "line of fire" for everything would be nice. Instead of just having an indeterminite "X" out 7 squares away, a small line coming from your turret and terminating at the X's intersection would be nice, especially if it turned whatever it touched green to indicate that you were going to hit that particular object. Perhaps this could be used for pills as well.

My other ideal would be invincible testing mode, where you could go through the maps on a base run and test out pilltakes, etc, without having to die over and over again. LGMs could die only for a second, too. Unlimited ammo, mines and trees would be good, too.

Another fascet of jousting could be that your armor and shells would "recharge" after you've finished off your opponent.

A map restoring option when you're jousting could be nice. Whenever someone dies, you start over and the map is re-set.

I read through the entire thread, didn't see it. And even though these ideas don't have to be reasonable, let's not get into things that would totally fuck up gameplay.

lol, weeeeeeeeeell, if winbolo had more of a dev. team, it could help gameplay, versions would be better and more complete, because it'd be closed source but open between, say... I want a secret key code implemented to give me a SUPER advantage, so I can kill someone in only ONE shot (this should work on pillboxes too!).

Cosmetic:
Death animation (Bolo "fades" out the player's view when the tank dies)
Button animations (Bolo "moves" button borders whereas WinBolo just inverts it)
Bullets pushing tank (WinBolo moves the tank when shot, Bolo slides it) // Could hinder game play
Tank sprite collision points (Oscar's site said the tank was too "wide")
Bolo also has a "grayed-out" menu item that appears to enable the player to use a joystick although this might already be possible with some tinkering from the player.

One thing that might make for a nice borg project would be a map overview.

Biggest addition: Dead reckoning!! :)

1) Decentralize the development of winbolo, so it's not just one person having the burden of having to do all the work.

2) Allow customized physics and ruleset.

Someone needs to post up either the URL to a thread stating what Oscar wants changed to be a closer clone of Macbolo or throw up the link to the page that Oscar has hosted somewhere. It's a very comprehensive list that mentions the major problems which plague WinBolo and are reasons why the gameplay is different from Macbolo.

There are some good ideas here ;)

One thing i've never seen asked : the possibility to set the over mouse buttons in the "set keys" menu (for example for shooting, mining...).

Elvis could make it so WinBolo was capable of being changed by plugins, like is available with Adobe (I think, anyway). Someone with good programming skills could do any shit they want with it. And this also makes it possible for Elvis to still be working on WinBolo solo.

Sorry if this was what you had intended originally, but I wanted to get that in there in case not.

WELL, since you mention it I do have a nude lgwoman running around in my nudeSkin :D. One pixel for each breast, and one pixel denoted ummm, the difference between a having panties or not.

An idea : the possibility to set 5 keys to activate the tree, road, wall, pillbox and mine icons instead of mouse pointing.

I think it is.... It might get so you have too many keys then, but who cares? :D You could always do the 1 2 3 4 and 5 keys.... w/e...

Even if it's too many keys, you could always just go back to normal mouse-pointing.
